Assistive Technology (AT) is not just about devices; it’s about dignity, independence, and access to education

We explore 10 breakthrough tools that help teachers, caregivers, and learners achieve more than ever before.

1️⃣ Screen Readers and Braille Displays

For learners with visual impairments, screen readers such as JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver convert text to speech, while Braille displays allow real-time tactile reading. Ensure students can access digital content with ease and confidence.

2️⃣ Hearing Aids and FM Systems

Modern digital hearing aids and FM systems help amplify sound and minimize background noise. They make it easier for learners with hearing impairments to follow lessons, especially in group settings or noisy environments.

3️⃣ Speech-to-Text Software

Applications like Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Google Voice Typing, and Otter.ai convert spoken language into text — helping learners with physical disabilities, dyslexia, or limited fine motor skills to complete written assignments independently.

4️⃣ Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Devices

AAC tools such as Proloquo2Go, TouchChat, and communication boards give a voice to learners who have speech or language difficulties, promoting expression and social interaction.
