When the Industrial Revolution began in the late 1700s, factories ran almost non-stop.
Workers, including children, toiled for 12β16 hours a day, six days a week.
There were no labour laws, no weekends, no safety nets β just endless production.
But was it freedom? Or just a more polished version of exhaustion?
