Ladies and gentleman, it’s my pleasure to welcome you all to the Business Idea Marathon initiative today. An initiative that’s of its own kind globally for the first time that Mr. Kenji has said, that’s towards Gender Based Violence in terms of protection, through business idea innovations.

In collaboration with JICA, Daystar (ODeL, DRGS, SBE & Innovation hub) will host a "Business Idea Marathon" on Thursday and Friday, where 150 already selected participants will attend. During this event, judges will select the most innovative ideas presented by 20 Daystar students & other organizations to receive seed capital by JICA. 6 faculty ( from the Department of : Developmental Studies, Commerce & Education ) are part of the judges & moderators of the event. Daystar through ODeL, DRGS, SBE together with JICA, NGEC, Nairobi County & Axcel Africa will be holding a Business Marathon Idea to adress GBV in Kenya 7th 8th March 2024. 20 DU postgraduate students & 50 other key stakeholders have been funded to attend. Ideas generated will be funded by JICA. We held a planning meeting on 27th of February 2024.
