Take a moment to reflect on this:
Our behavior as adults is largely influenced by what we learnt either through observation, formally or informally while young. For example, think about the items you shopped for and used while young eg. toiletries, condiments, stationery, etc. Compare that with what you use now as an adult...see any similarities?

These "lessons" stick with us for almost a lifetime. They become so natural we sometimes find ourselves 'rebranding' similar products in the market with the old brands we have known or used. (I do this quite often).

Similarly, sound financial lessons and habits learnt while young will be bound in the mind and heart of our children for a lifetime. Let's do this together.

Did you know that today marks the start of the Global Money Week-GMW 2022? This initiative started 10 years ago is aimed at promoting efforts towards improving the financial literacy of young people. The ultimate goal of the Campaign is to ensure that all children and youth have access to high-quality financial education, learn about money matters, and are able to make smart financial decisions that can improve their future financial resilience and financial well-being.

“Build your future, be smart about money” is the official theme of GMW2022.

How about making a commitment this week about having a conversation about money with your kids. Please don't call a "press conference" or a "family meeting", you will lose them with the 'Name" be creative :-)! Do share with us what methods you employ. May this be the beginning of many more practical lessons and conversations. Remember it's a marathon, not a sprint...

Cheering you on! Let's do this!

In understanding or beginning to unearth our relationship with money and embracing healthy habits only then can we pass on the same to our children. Financial literacy more often than not is caught not taught. The little eyes around us are watching.

We are both excited and honored to be having this conversation that and have provided a platform for.

It's amazing the kind of energy, renewed strength, hope, that comes with a new year, new month, new week, birthdays, anniversaries (you catch the drift). It feels like a new start and it is in many ways. That said unless we make deliberate changes, work out how we intend to get to actualize the big picture we would like to see, well things will remain as they were or perhaps deteriorate.

Nothing just happens, things are made to happen. If we want to have better financial health, more meaningful relationships, etcetera etcetera, then we need to work towards change, have our “why’s” very clear, have systems in place to evaluate our progress, have accountability "partners" among other things. The bottom line is: Nothing changes unless we change.

We hope to see and hear about the steps you are making in whatever area of your life towards the change you want to see, we will be sharing the same as we go.
