CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF THE LATE GEORGE MUIRU NJOROGELife Story Of The Late George Mûirû Njoroge
Birth and Early Life
The late George Mûirû Njoroge was born in the year 1940 to his parents, the late John
Njoroge and the late Emily Wambûi, in the village of Ngarariga, Limuru. He was the
fifth-born child in the family whose siblings were the late Josephine Njeri, the late
Daniel Mûirûrî, the late Paul Njenga, the late James Kimani and Veronica Wanjiku.
Education
He began his early education at Manguo Primary School in Ngarariga. He later
proceeded to Sabatia, where he continued with his studies before joining Ravine
School, where he completed his Intermediate Class examinations in 1962.
Initiation
He was initiated as per the kikuyu custom in 1958 and thereafter remained at home
with his parents, assisting them with family responsibilities as was customary for young
people of his time.
Marriage and Family Life
In 1963, he married the love of his life, Jacinta Wanjiru. Their union was blessed with
children: John Njoroge, Emily Wambûi, Jane Wanja, the late Margaret Njeri, the late
Peter Chege, Daniel Mûirûrî, David Mwambura, Francis Njenga and Mirriam Njoki.
Faith and Church Life
He gave his life to Christ in 1976 at the Full Gospel Churches of Kenya, where he was
baptized and continued to grow in faith and service. In 2006, he relocated to the Kayole
area near Naivasha and joined the First Born Maraigucu Church, where he served
faithfully as an elder until his passing.
Career
In 1964, he was employed by the Ministry of Environment and rose to the position of a
senior labour officer in the Rift Valley Region. He served diligently in this role until his
retirement.
Illness and Passing
In September 2025, his health began to decline. He was admitted to several hospitals
at different times, including Nakuru Annex, MP Shah Hospital in Nairobi and Nairobi
Women’s Hospital in Naivasha, where he remained until the Lord called him home on
April 24, 2026.
He passed on at the age of 86.
He is survived by his beloved wife, his children - sons and daughters, 38 grandchildren
and 33 great-grandchildren.
