LEARNING DIFFICULTIES
Learning difficulties is a disorder in one or more of the basic psychological processes involved in understanding or using language,both spoken and written.This may manifest itself in the imperfect ability to listen,think,speak,read,write,spell or do mathematical calculations.

CAUSES
The actual cause of an individual's learning difficulties is unknown.However,research suggests that reading difficulties (Dyslexia) are inherited.
Research also suggests that learning difficulties may appear as a result of problems or differences in how the brain is organized and how it processes information.
Certain factors know to present learning difficulties are:-
1.Physical conditions -visual,hearing defects and hyperactivity
2.Environmental factors -conditions at home and school (trauma or stress)
3.Motivational factors -self esteem and learned helplessness.
These may interfere with a child's academic progress in school thus contributing to a learning difficulty.

The terms learning disorders,Learning disabilities describe various impairments in academic skills.children with learning disorders process information differently from other children as a result of neurological changes in the brain.Learning disorders interfere with the childs ability to learn or express what she knows.
These disabilities may run in the families and preceded by delayed development of language during preschool years.
Early identification can prevent or limit frustrations and failure at school,which often leads to other emotional,social,or family problems.
