Prophet Isaiah Said it…

HUSBANDS, YOU ARE THE REDEEMER OF YOUR FAMILIES

It is important to note two things before we proceed on:
1. GOD IS A GOD OF FAMILY. I need not go into proving this now coz that is a whole topic on its own.
2. SATAN HATES FAMILY WITH PASSION. First, owing to the fact that God is a God of family, and secondly because of the reason we are going to see shortly.

Let’s dive into it…
We see that Israel is portrayed as the wife of God in the scriptures. Furthermore, the church is portrayed as the wife of Christ - God’s son - in the scriptures.
We see that God redeemed, saved, delivered, sanctified, Israel among other very good things that He did to Israel. Christ, on the other hand, came for one purpose only - to give birth to the church. He not only gave birth, but redeemed, cleansed, delivered, purchased, it through his suffering death and resurrection.

Paul, guided by the Holy Spirit in his teachings, instructs wives to submit to their husbands as the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church. It is undebatable that when the Husband has become the head of the wife then it means he is the head of everyone that comes from the wife (children), and everything in that family.

Now, the fact that the husband being the head of the wife is likened unto Christ being the head of the church, and taking into account the work that Christ came to do for the sake of the church, to give birth to the church, redeem, and deliver the church, it then gives the revelation that it has been bestowed upon the husband the work of redemption, deliverance, and giving birth to his wife, and hence his entire family. Comparing the wordings of Habakkuk 2:20 and I Corinthians 14:34, gives some insight on this, taking it on an different context.

When the husband takes his position according to the plan of God and directive of Christ, he will download the deliverance, the redemption, the birthing, and all that comes from Christ and upload the same on his wife and his entire family. The result is that that family becomes a total threat to the devil and his works, and this is what the devil, the enemy, hates from eternity to eternity. Perhaps you have wondered why in most churches, there are more women than men, to the ration of 9:1. Well it is because the devil has pocketed all the redeemers of the families and hence has blocked several other divine rights of those families.

It is unimaginable what would happen if a church service of only fifty families, whose head (the husbands) have woken up to this reality and taken action to sn**ch their families from the jaws of the enemy, each family attending church complete, that is, the husband, the wife, and their children and all of them raise their voices to God in unity, sincerity and dedication. I am persuaded that the kind of presence of God that will rest in such a gathering can only be compared with that of II Chronicles 5:14. The prosperity that they would experience is beyond measure. No world of wealth can compete it, because the world and all in it belongs to God!

Husbands, wake up!! Men, wake up!! It is time to claim your positions as the head of your families. Ask Christ to start the work through you to deliver your families and bring them to where God wants them to be! It is your responsibility! God is not a gate crasher, He won’t break into you unless you allow Him. Take the first step towards Him and He will take ten steps towards you!!!

For some time, I have asked myself, plus others; ‘Does God really speak nowadays?’ Perhaps you must have asked the same question too, or at least heard such from a friend.

In the Bible we see God speaking to people - people who believed in Him. But why the silence these days? That seeming silence has led many people to desperately depend on ‘men of God’ for the voice of God. Noticing the desperation, self made men of God, in excess of them, have flooded everywhere. The people’s despair has escalated so much so that they cannot distinguish between false and true men of God. But the truth is that God does speak. All the time, always! He does speak to anyone who believes in Him. The only thing everyone who believes in Him needs to do is to open up their spiritual senses! That’s it!

So I went for a 5days prayer camp. That means I left home last Monday morning came back that Saturday. The prayer centre was located 5km from home. Apart from the church’s corporate prayer agendas, each one was encouraged to first bring their individual and personal prayer items and requests to God. I loved the fact that the church’s leadership recognized the importance of the people bringing their personal burdens to God before they could bring the entire church’s. I was not left out. I had my own issues to lay before God’s throne of mercy.

Several mysterious and wonderful things happened on each of the five days I spent at the centre, but to cut the long story short, on the fourth day of prayers, whatever led me to ask God to show me the true picture of my family, that is my wife, my kids, and I, is a story for another day. You might be aware of this already, but many people, families, and entities are not what they physically look like. This is again another topic for another day.

Well, concerning my prayer to God to show me what exactly my family looked like, nothing happened until I was back home. My family was expecting me that Saturday morning. Having no much money to spend on this extra activity, they opted for the readily available printing papers that were in the house, picked some fresh flowers from the thicket nearby the house, to make me a surprise welcome back home. These were carefully and neatly arranged on our sleeping mattress which laid carefully spread on the floor. I loved it! These were accompanied with a ready breakfast that my wife had intentionally prepared. I felt triple times hungry when my eyes landed on the breakfast, perfectly arranged on the floor besides our sleeping mattress.

After taking a shower, I sat down to have a look at what was on the carefully trimmed and ink decorated pieces of paper. It was all dominated by the four letter word - LOVE! Well it might look and sound so simple and obvious, and indeed it was, but this one struck me hard. As I was going through each one’s message to me, that’s when three lines struck my head. That small still voice that I, you, and everyone else normally ignores. Yes that very one that you and I always brushed off saying it is just my brain roaming about and playing tricks on me. “This is the true picture of your family. This is how your family looks like. Full of Love.” It calmly whispered into my inner ears.

It was as easy as felling a drunkard to simply push away that thought because this was not the first time our kids decorated our small room with bush flowers and written notes to us whenever my wife and I, or any of us, were out. However, this was the first time that my wife also secured her portion in it all and had her own note for me. I never got a single prompt in my head, let alone my heart, during any of those previous surprises, and instead, I just liked it and said to myself that it was every kid’s practice appreciating their mom and dad. The truth is my spiritual senses, the sense to see, the sense to hear, and the sense to feel were all dead on! None of them worked a single bit!

We normally get so busy that we don’t allow our ears, eyes, bodies, minds, and hearts to hear, see, feel, sense, or even perceive from God. One of my old saying goes like; God is too small you cannot miss Him. He is yet so big that you can miss Him. Yes you read that right!

Whenever we expect God to come with lightening and thunder in response to our queries and prayers, He does exactly the opposite. It is important that we fixed our senses, spiritual senses, and keep them absolutely functional and we will always, all the time, hear God shouting. Answers from God will start to be almost immediate, and we will notice that He answers everything we ask Him - everything!

Many teachings have been developed about response from God. The most common one of them is that God always answers with Yes, No, or Wait. They then tend to encourage you that the reason you have not received what you prayed for, is because God has said wait. Thereafter comes tons of motivational speech. This is very contrary to Isaiah 59:1 (You May read on for a more contextual insight).

You will be surprised to learn that such teachings as these are simply the ideologies of men. 100% of people in the Bible who called God for a response, God honored them and gave them answers according to their prayer. To make it even more precise, Moses had a number of one on one conversations with God. You could say Moses was was quite high in the hierarchy of leadership. Well, how about Joseph the husband to Mary the mother of Jesus? And if you have further contrary debate about Joseph, then I refer you to a pr******te called Rahab. Was it Satan who gave her the forehand information of God having given His children the city of Jericho? God Himself promises to answer prayers in Jeremiah 33:3. James sheds more light on prayer and answers in his letter in James 1:3.

What am I saying? God speaks! Yes He does! More often than not! He answers prayers too! All of them! In most cases He does them almost immediately. All we need to do is open up our spiritual senses. All the Five of them. And who can help us do that? The Holy Spirit! Invite Him to be your friend!

IS YOUR PRAYER REALLY A WEAPON??? DOES YOUR PRAYER REALLY MOVE GOD???

Well, a lot has been said about prayer. Some of the common claims going around include, ‘your prayer is a weapon’, ‘your prayer moves God’, and so on and so forth.

But are these what really the word of God teaches? The answer is NO!!! Your prayer is not and will never be a weapon, and your prayer can never move God an inch and in any way!! Yes! That is the truth! Here is how…

We will refer to only three portions of the scriptures, but mindful of the context.
Ephesians 6:10-20
Philippians 4:6
James 4:3
1. PRAYER IS NOT YOUR WEAPON, BUT AN ACT OF ENGAGEMENT AFTER YOU’VE GOT YOUR WEAPON ON!!

Paul in his letter to the believers in Ephesus, lists the weapons that they needed to armor themselves with. After equipping themselves with those, then he, Paul, urges them that they could now go ahead and pray - in the Holy Ghost. That directly applies to us today. Here is the simple illustration.

#1. A soldier who is active in the battle frontline, but has no proper weapons, will end up dead. This is the man who has lots of prayer but without the armory listed in the scriptures.
#2. A soldier with full armory, then finds a cool shadow under a tree and naps off, will equally end up dead. This is the man who has all the weapons listed by Paul in this scriptures but lacks prayer.

So what is the role of prayer then? Prayer is the action of actively engaging in the battle, having equipped yourself with all the armory!!!! That’s it!!!

2. YOUR PRAYER DOES NOT MOVE GOD. IF IT DID YOU’D BE GOD!

Towards the end of the letter, Ephesians 6:19-20, Paul asks the believers to plead with God for him. Paul was in chains by then. As a matter of fact he was in chains for quite a long period of time, being moved from place to place, from one king to another. I don’t think Paul did like the chains. No he did not really enjoy them. If his and their prayers moved God, he would not be in chains that long. No sooner would they buckle the chains on him, would God have dropped ‘em off his hands, so he could go and continue with God’s assignment. But God didn’t, despite their prayers for it.

In Philippians 4:6 Paul tries to pass the message that, Prayer only helps us to take our needs to God! However, it is upon God to decide when and how He would answer them. However way and whenever time He answers them, turns out to be the best. All we need NOT to do is worry.

James comes to enlighten us that we stand chances of not getting what we pray for, because we pray for it either wrongly, with wrong motives, at the wrong time, and so on.

Take a simple example of a child with her father. The seven year old girl asks for her rich dad to buy her a gun. She throws tantrums and makes all sorts of scenes… if you were the father, would that move your to buy her a gun??

THE THREE DEVILISH GIANTS

There are three common avenues through which the enemy will try to make you cave in to his way. He used it on Eve and got her. He used the same tactics on JESUS CHRIST Himself, but this time he wasn’t lucky. Genesis 3:15 had started taking its course.
1. Lust of the Flesh (Matthew 4:3)
2. Lust of the Eyes (Matthew 4:8-9)
3. Pride of Life (Matthew 4:5-6)
Today, in our present age, the enemy, the devil, uses the same patterns on believers.
1. Lust of the flesh - S*x
2. Lust of the Eyes - Money
3. Pride of Life - Power
One thing we have to know is that the devil will never come ugly! He isn’t as ugly as his picture had been painted in our minds right from Sunday school. No! He can come in form of an angel of light (II Corinthians 11:14). He is very wise too! Ephesians 6:11). He will come in a very beautifully cunning attire.

What do we have to do then? First, we MUST put on all the armors of CHRIST so as to stand the tactical lies from the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Secondly, we MUST be as wise as little snakes! (Matthew 10:16). And where do we get that wisdom? From the Holy Spirit, who was promised to lead us into all truth!
