Day One of the Bamboo Expo & Conference 2026
A remarkable start to the three-day event as Dr. Deborah Barasa, Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, graced the occasion as Chief Guest, alongside Meru County Deputy Governor Ms. Linda Gakii Kiome and MUST Chair of Council Prof. James Ireri Kanya.
The event brings together leaders, innovators, researchers and stakeholders to explore the potential of bamboo in conservation, innovation, investment and sustainable development.

After a week of inspiring conversations, groundbreaking research and meaningful collaborations, the 80th RILEM Week 2026 & 3rd ACCTA International Conference comes to a close.
Meru University of Science and Technology (MUST), through the Institute of Cement & Concrete (ICC), is proud to have been part of this landmark gathering that brought together global expertise and African innovation around climate-friendly construction technologies.
From knowledge exchange to new partnerships, the week has demonstrated the power of collaboration in shaping a more sustainable, resilient and climate-friendly built environment.

Inaugural MoU Implementation Meeting Between Meru University of Science and Technology and Big Dadie Stores Limited

Meru University of Science and Technology and Big Dadie Stores Limited held their inaugural MoU Implementation Meeting, marking an important step towards translating the partnership into tangible outcomes.

The collaboration focuses on research, development, capacity building, testing, commercialization and market advancement of the Instant External Automatic Handbrake System. Through the partnership, the two institutions will leverage their expertise, facilities, resources, training, technical support, and innovation capabilities to advance the development and commercialization of the technology.
