Happy 4th Anniversary of Priestly Ordination, Brother Rev. Fr. Martin,
Time truly flies, and time truly heals.
As I celebrate you today, my heart travels back to that sacred day — the day heaven called your name and you answered with a confident, unwavering “NIKO!” — Here I am! Those words still echo in my soul.
I remember how deeply I longed to attend your Ordination Holy Mass in person. My heart was full of passion and anticipation. But life had placed me on a wheelchair, recovering from a near-fatal accident. I could not walk into the church that day — yet I had every reason to thank God for the gift of life.
Though confined to my wheelchair, I gathered strength, pushed myself slowly into the sitting room where the television stood, and prepared my heart for the celebration. Technology became my bridge. The internet did not disappoint. Miles away, I listened attentively as your name was called. I heard your bold response. I watched you, sandwiched between Mom and Dad, walking slowly yet purposefully down the aisle — a son offered to God.
I followed every word of the homily. I witnessed the sacred rites of ordination. I prayed through the entire Mass. My body was limited, but my spirit stood tall in that church with you. I may have missed the “party after party” celebrations, but I am certain they were among the best — for heaven itself was rejoicing.
Today, I celebrate two miracles:
Your four years of faithful priesthood, and my healing.
As a Consolata Missionary, you have embraced the call to serve in harsh and remote places, where challenges are many and comforts are few. Yet that is where true shepherds shine — among the forgotten, the distant, the weary. May the same God who called you continue to renew your strength. May He grant you endurance when the mission is heavy, courage when the road is rough, and joy that overflows even in sacrifice.
Brother, your “NIKO” was not just a response that day — it was a lifetime commitment. And four years later, you are still saying, “Here I am, Lord.”
We are proud of you.
We celebrate you.
We thank God for you.
