Today’s affirmation:

💫 I am a mothaf**kin master! 💫

This is me. At 34. After having successfully defended my Tulane university master’s degree in Latin American studies with a thesis called Elulua: An AfroCosmic Pleasure Praxis.

I am a muthaf**kin master!

This is me after having faced some of the most challenging years of my life, in full soul training camp, while stepping inward and outward into my purpose and power.

I am a muthaf**kin master!

This is me after defeating 4 rounds of malaria, COVID, bacterial infections, parasites, and now in full radiant health, feeling brighter each day.

I am a muthaf**kin master.

This is me after accompanying the near-death health journeys of the most important men in my life, and grieving the losses of those close to me as they remained physically far away.

I am a mothaf**kin master.

This is me deep in studies, deep in spirit, deep in love, deep in possibilities, floating in the afrocosmos, grounded on this land and actively seeking stewardship.

I’m a mo*********ng master and in an infinite process of self-observation, self-mastery, compassion, forgiveness, pleasure, and joy!

This life and this vessel gives me the perfect crucible for growth and evolution, and I welcome each opportunity with gratitude and appreciation.

Blessings and infinite thanks to Spirit, to my professors, to my advisors, to my friends, and to my partner for challenging me, supporting me, and putting up with me during this process.

A cacao❤️ blessing and a song to honor our mother of sweet waters, the goddess Oxum:

stunning and diplomatic,
capricious, yet all-seeing,
diviner of many futures,
Shining, she’ll take you by the curves of her hips and bring you back into
the arms of harmony.
Sweet like honey, sticky,
Entranced by her rhythms,
Mesmerized by her cowries as they fall...
We give thanks to you, mother Oxum!

Here’s a translation of the Brazilian classic, É D’Oxum that and sang in the waters as we sailed the magical coast of Lamu, Kenya.

Osun, Oxum, Oshun is a Yoruba goddess who enchants our waters worldwide.

🎶In this city everyone is a child of Oxum.

Men, boys, girls, and women.
All of these people radiate magic!
She’s present in sweet waters
She’s present in salt waters
And the whole city shines...

The force that lives in these waters,
