GOVERNANCE AND OVERSIGHT
The Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College Board of Governors Finance and Infrastructure Committee convened on 8th June 2026 to undertake key governance and oversight functions aimed at strengthening institutional growth and sustainability.
The committee reviewed the proposed Financial Year 2026/2027 budget to align resource allocation with the College's strategic priorities and development agenda.
Members also examined the institution's financial statements as part of their commitment to accountability, transparency, and prudent financial management.
Additionally, the committee conducted an inspection of both ongoing and completed development projects to assess progress, quality standards, value for money, and overall impact on the College's learning environment and infrastructure expansion.

KATTI NORTHERN REGION SEASON 1 ATHLETICS AND INDOOR GAMES : VENUE-NUU TVC; MWINGI
Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College able team is at the Regional Season I Athletics and Indoor Games Championships at Nuu Technical and Vocational College, Kitui County.
The competition brings together top TVET institutions in a showcase of sporting excellence, talent development, and institutional competitiveness.
Our student-athletes are competing across multiple disciplines, including track and field events, badminton, and table tennis, demonstrating technical skill, physical endurance, strategic ex*****on, and sportsmanship.

KENYA BUREAU OF STATISTICS TVET CENSUS - MACHAKOS TOWN TVC
Today, Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College had the privilege of hosting officers from the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) as part of the country's first-ever census of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
The exercise seeks to collect vital data on student enrolment, staffing, infrastructure, and institutional capacity to support evidence-based planning and strengthen the TVET sector in Kenya.

INCOME GENERATION AND CBET TRAINING - FASHION DESIGN
As part of the Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) framework, trainees in the Fashion Design and Garment Making Department at Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College have successfully undertaken industry-oriented production projects, demonstrating practical competencies in apparel and textile fabrication.
The trainees have designed and produced high-quality dust coats for institutional staff, protective dust covers for Jitume Lab computer equipment, and a range of other customized textile accessories. These products exemplify the department's commitment to hands-on skills development, quality craftsmanship, innovation, and the application of industry standards in garment construction and textile product development.
The college welcomes individuals, institutions, schools, businesses, and organizations to place orders for dust coats, computer dust covers, uniforms, protective wear, branded textile products, and other customized fabric-based items. These initiatives form part of the institution's Income Generating Activities (IGAs), providing trainees with real-world production experience while delivering quality products that meet client specifications.

CBET TRAINING - FOOD AND BEVERAGE OPERATIONS
Trainees from the Department of Hospitality and Tourism at Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College undertook Competency-Based Education and Training (CBET) practical sessions in Food Production and Food & Beverage Service.
The practicals focused on professional meal preparation, culinary presentation techniques, table service procedures, and guest handling standards aimed at equipping trainees with industry-relevant technical competencies and hands-on experience in hospitality operations.
Through intensive practical exposure, trainees continue to develop skills in culinary arts, food safety and hygiene, service excellence, teamwork, and customer experience management in preparation for the dynamic hospitality industry.

SOLARIZATION OF MACHAKOS TOWN TVC
Machakos Town Technical and Vocational College is proud to be part of the national TVET solarization initiative spearheaded by the Ministry of Education through the State Department for TVET. This transformative project is advancing sustainable, climate-smart energy solutions across TVET institutions while strengthening technical training and green skills development.
The ongoing solar PV installation at Machakos Town TVC demonstrates the institution’s commitment to; Enhancing energy reliability through clean and renewable solar power systems, Reducing operational electricity costs and dependence on grid energy, Improving energy efficiency through retrofitting and modernization of electrical infrastructure, Promoting sustainable and low-carbon institutional operations in line with Kenya’s green transition agenda and Building institutional resilience through climate-smart energy technologies
The project further integrates CBET by actively involving trainees from the Electrical and Electronics Department alongside contracted solar professionals during mounting, wiring, installation, and system integration works.
This initiative reflects how TVET institutions are becoming centers of excellence for renewable energy innovation, technical capacity building, and sustainable development.
Together, we are training the next generation of green energy technicians while transforming TVET institutions into energy-efficient and climate-resilient learning environments.
