Welcome to our school. Thank you for taking the trouble to come and learn about us.Our school is based in Nakaeeli Village, which is in the Keio Valley in Turkana, Northern Kenya. Here is a Google map link of where we are: https://goo.gl/maps/H78247eqRvM2 We have 314 learners, 2 TSC (Teacher Service Commission) Teachers, 2 Volunteer Teachers and 1 County Government allocated teacher. We also have
a cook and a guard.We need your help because we want to learn but our conditions –though improving- are very poor. Our community with the help of well-wishers and our headmaster Lotiki Thomas have tried their very best. They moved us from learning under trees, in the open air, to learning in temporary structures by raising Ksh.115,000 online.Our County Government in Turkana came to our aid, by building us two brick classrooms funded by the Community Development Fund. They also provided us with 50 desks. We are waiting for construction to commence to COMPLETE our school in 2018. Funded by The SAFARICOM FOUNDATIONhttp://www.safaricomfoundation.org We ran a successful campaign to provide us with books, it was championed by Kenyan personality Luca Berardi www.berardiluca.com. we received the textbooks we need. He also donated some clothes for our learners.UNICEF have always supported our efforts they provided us with exercise books and other learning materials but we always need donations of these. They have also provided water containers so we can purify the water we collect and bring to school..We have come a long way but we still need some help to reach our goals. Our current appeal is: To buy a 5000 Litre Water tank. Our nearest water supply is 3km away.To raise funds for the school’s non-government funded running costs, such as allowances for our volunteer teachers, school guard, cook and the motorbike our headmaster uses to fetch and deliver our food supplies.To provide practical things like starter-packs for each learner (uniform, shoes, socks, under-garments, sanitary products, solar light, toiletries, pens and pencils).
