LOBA Welcomes New Lodwar High School Principal
Lodwar, 6th February 2026

The Lodwar Boys Alumni Association ExCom on Thursday paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Principal of Lodwar High School, Dr. Raphael Lotum, to formally welcome him following his appointment by the Ministry of Education.

The visit comes against the backdrop of recent poor KCSE performance, which raised concern among alumni and education stakeholders and prompted calls for leadership change at the institution.

Speaking during the visit, LOBA Chairperson Dr. Abok expressed renewed hope in Dr. Lotum’s leadership and assured him of full alumni support as the school embarks on a journey to restore academic excellence and discipline.

LOBA Patron Rt. Hon. Ekwee Ethuro, SS1, also welcomed the new principal and congratulated the newly promoted Deputy Principal, Mr. Bebeto. He urged the administration to prioritize discipline, values, and academic focus, noting that these had significantly declined in recent years.

LOBA reiterated its commitment to partner with the school management to ensure Lodwar High School regains its former glory.

The Lodwar Old Boys Association joins the Lodwar Boys High School community in welcoming the new Principal, Dr. Raphael Lotum. We wish him success as he provides leadership and works towards restoring stability and improving academic performance. LOBA commits to working closely with the school administration in support of better results.
We also sincerely thank and wish the outgoing Principal, Mr. Lokwayen Patrick, all the best as he transitions to the next chapter of his service. We believe change is part of growth and his contribution to the school is appreciated.
We extend our gratitude to all stakeholders who listened, engaged and worked together to bring this matter to a constructive conclusion.
To the students of Lodwar Boys High School: we urge you to remain calm, return to school and focus on your studies. Education and improved results remain our shared priority.

Finally, LOBA apologizes to anyone who may have been inconvenienced in the process. Our actions were guided solely by the best interests of the school and its future.

Lodwar Old Boys Association (LOBA) has urged the Ministry of Education to remove the principal and board of management of Lodwar High School, citing poor management after the school produced 74 Ds in the 2025 national exams, while newer schools in the county posted much better results despite limited infrastructure.
