Have you read the Finance Bill, 2026?

Have you taken time to compare what was proposed, what the Committee recommended, and how your MP voted during the Second Reading?

For many young people, this conversation is about more than taxes. It reminds us of the friends we lost two years ago and the responsibility we all have to remain engaged in shaping our country's future.

The Bill has now passed the Second Reading, yet there is still so much discussion, confusion, and misinformation around its contents. Rather than rely on headlines and hearsay, can we commit to reading it and having honest, fact-based conversations about what it means for our lives, businesses, and future opportunities?

Would you like me to break down the key provisions, the proposed amendments, and what they mean in simple terms?

Let's have a real conversation. Read the bill here,

Happy International Day of the African Child.

It is a reminder of both the promise and the responsibility we owe to our children. While it is a moment of celebration, it also calls us to reflect on the challenges that still affect childrenโ€™s rights and wellbeing in our society.

In Kiambu County especially, we are proud of the strides made in strengthening ECDE centres as a foundation for quality early learning. Through improved facilities, better access, and continued investment in early childhood education, we are giving our children a stronger start in life.

A child protected, educated, and supported today is a stronger leader for tomorrow.

Team Sally for the win! ๐ŸŽ‰ What a ride, what a victory!
Congratulations, Sally Mwende, on being elected President of the Tenri Group of Schools. From much anticipated to much celebrated . Team Sally came through with a big win!
Your victory is proof that the girl child is powerful, capable, and ready to lead. To many young girls out there, this is inspiration in motion.
And for us in the political class? A good reminder that energy, connection with the people, and believing in your team can make all the difference ๐Ÿ˜„
Fly high, President Sally , the future looks bright! โœจ

As a proud member of the Kiambu County Assembly Health Committee, it's encouraging to see some of the issues we raise in committee meetings and oversight visits translating into real action on the ground. ๐Ÿ’š

Today, I am happy to see a fresh consignment of drugs received at the county's central medical store, a move that will help improve availability across our health facilities and ensure patients continue receiving timely treatment.

Oversight is not just about paperwork and reports. It's also about visiting facilities, listening to wananchi, identifying gaps, and pushing for solutions. That is how we build stronger systems.

Kiambu is rising. ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ“ˆ

While there is still work to do, we must acknowledge progress when we see it. I am proud of the commitment Governor Kimani Wamatangi's administration continues to show in strengthening healthcare services across our county.

Now over to you, good people of kiambu:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Have you visited a Kiambu public hospital recently?
๐Ÿ‘‰ Was medicine available?
๐Ÿ‘‰ How was the service?

Share your experience in the comments. Let's celebrate what is working and identify what still needs improvement.

The World Health Organization continues to champion Universal Health Coverage (UHC), with the goal of ensuring that everyone can access quality healthcare services when and where they need them, without financial hardship.

This vision continues to take shape through sustained investment in health infrastructure across the county.

I joined H.E. Governor Kimani Wamatangi in inspecting the ongoing construction of Ndururumoโ€“Ndarasha Level Three Hospital in Theta Ward, Juja Sub-County. Once complete, the 56-bed facility will significantly enhance access to quality healthcare services and will include an outpatient wing, maternity unit, general ward, paediatric ward, laboratory, and theatre to support both routine and emergency care.

This development reflects a broader commitment to bringing healthcare services closer to the people, reducing the burden of long-distance travel in search of treatment, and strengthening timely access to essential and life-saving care. Ultimately, these investments continue to improve health outcomes and strengthen service delivery across our communities.

โ€œHumble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.โ€ โ€“ James 4:10
Today was a beautiful and deeply nostalgic day as we celebrated the end of Woman's Guild week 2026 with the faithfuls and Womenโ€™s Guild members of P.C.E.A Magomano in Ndarasha, Theta Ward, Juja Sub-County, alongside H.E. Governor Kimani Wamatangi.

The celebration brought back fond memories of my grandmother, Charity Nyaruai, who faithfully served as a Mลฉthirฤฉtลฉ as they are called in kikuyu. Her dedication to faith, family, and service remains a lasting inspiration and a reminder of the strong spiritual foundation laid by women in our communities.

As this yearโ€™s Guild Week comes to a close under the theme โ€œRooted and Established in Christโ€ (Colossians 2:7), we celebrate and honour the enduring role of women in strengthening the Church, nurturing families, and shaping society through unwavering faith and service.

Today, we concluded the scrutiny of the Supplementary Budget II for the Financial Year 2025/2026.
As Members of the County Assembly of Kiambu, our responsibility goes beyond approving figures. We must carefully examine every proposed allocation, interrogate departmental performance, assess revenue collection, review pending bills, and ensure that public resources are directed where they will have the greatest impact on the lives of our people.
Over the past days, committees have engaged County departments on issues affecting service delivery across sectors including health, education, agriculture, water, roads, trade, ICT, youth, and public administration. The process has involved asking difficult questions, seeking accountability, and ensuring that every adjustment is justified and aligned with the priorities of Kiambu residents.
Tomorrow, the Supplementary Budget II Report will be tabled before the House for debate and consideration.
My commitment remains to prudent management of public resources, value for money, transparency, and ensuring that every shilling works for the people of Kiambu.
Good governance begins with responsible oversight.

Limited access to specialised paediatric surgical care remains a major challenge across many counties, leading to delayed treatment and avoidable complications in children.

Kiambu Level 5 Hospital is steadily rising as a Centre of Excellence in child healthcare.

The hospital is hosting global and local paediatric surgeons and medical professionals for a critical workshop and hands-on training aimed at strengthening specialised child healthcare services. The programme brings together experts from Kisii, Kakamega, Narok, Nairobi and Kajiado counties in a collaborative effort to improve paediatric surgical care and health outcomes for children.

Through strategic partnerships, specialised training, and continued investment in modern healthcare systems, Kiambu is building a stronger, more responsive health sector and positioning itself as a leader in quality healthcare delivery.

Kiambu Level 5 Hospital continues to set the pace in public healthcare. The Senate Health Committee was impressed by the facilityโ€™s pharmacy stock levels and management, with Senator Edwin W. Sifuna acknowledging that devolution is working in Kiambu. Progress is best measured by systems that serve the people efficiently.

Kiambu County has marked a major milestone with the first telemedicine surgery at Kiambu Level Five Hospital using the Proximie system, where a live caesarean section was streamed in real time to the county headquarters, Thika Level Five Hospital, and to doctors in the United Kingdom.

The system connects doctors across hospitals and borders, enabling collaboration, learning and improved patient care through digitized surgery.

Governor Kimani Wamatangi watched the caesarean section live, underscoring the countyโ€™s commitment to embracing technology in transforming healthcare delivery.
