This little cutie is another common birds found in our grounds and gardens here at Brackenhurst. The African pied wagtail is the ONLY black and white wagtail left in Africa! A few weekends ago, we had a fantastic day in the forest with 80 children from some local schools in the Kiambu area. We teamed up with a great organisation called . Their mission is to sustain life through planting, growing and maintaining through educating and empowering. And their goal is to plant 5 million trees by 2025. They are doing this by teaching the younger generation how to plant, grow and look after trees in their school. We loved partnering with Mitialliance and look forward to connecting more and more. Pease go and check them out and give them some love.

Here is another one of our common birds found in the gardens at Brackenhurst Hotel and Conference Center.

The Abyssinian thrush. This beautiful little birds likes hopping around on the ground looking for yummy things to eat. Its habitat includes forest woodland, exotic plantations, gardens and parks. In 2010 this species was confirmed to be separate from the olive thrush because of their genetic differences. Do you see this little guy in your garden?
