WHO CAN DO THIS?
In 1993, French electrician Émile Leray embarked on a daring solo journey across the Moroccan desert—but disaster struck when his Citroën 2CV hit a rock and broke down in the middle of nowhere. With no cell phone, no radio, and dangerous terrain around him, Leray refused to give up. Armed with basic tools and sheer determination, he spent 12 days transforming his destroyed car into a fully functional motorcycle using only spare parts and what he had on hand.

Leray’s mechanical feat is now legendary—proving that true ingenuity knows no bounds. He managed to ride his homemade desert bike out of the wilderness to safety. Ironically, when he finally reached civilization, Moroccan police fined him for driving a vehicle that no longer matched its original registration. Today, his DIY survival bike stands as a symbol of resilience and creativity in extreme situations.
