Ukambani Young Leaders Stand in Solidarity with Isaac Mwanza

We were honoured to have Isaac Mwanza join us during our Ukambani Young Leaders Summit, where he passionately advocated for the rights, dignity, and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

In his address, Isaac called upon the government and other stakeholders to put persons living with disabilities at the forefront of leadership, policy-making, and national development, ensuring that their voices are not only heard but meaningfully represented.

As he seeks to serve as the PWDs Representative in the National Youth Council, we recognize his commitment, courage, and determination to champion an inclusive society where no one is left behind.

As Ukambani Young Leaders, we believe in leadership that represents all voices. We therefore expressed our collective support for Isaac Mwanza and his vision for greater representation and opportunities for young people living with disabilities.

Disability is not inability. Representation matters. Inclusion is the future. 🤝🇰🇪

🤝 THE UKAMBANI YOUNG LEADERS DECLARATION

The Ukambani Young Leaders Summit culminated in a historic joint declaration, bringing together the leadership of Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni under one shared vision: unity, collaboration, and sustainable progress for our region.

The declaration was formally signed by the presidents of the three student associations Chris Muli, President of Kitui University Students Association (KUSA); Faith Musau, President of MCUCSYA; and the President of Makueni University Students Association (MUSA) as a commitment to working together beyond institutional and county boundaries.

This was more than a signature. It was a statement that Ukambani's future cannot be built in isolation. By joining hands, sharing ideas, creating opportunities, and amplifying the voices of young people, we can collectively shape a better future for Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni.

Three counties. One region. One generation. One shared vision.

✍️ The declaration is signed. The commitment is made. Now, the work begins.

🌍 UKAMBANI YOUNG LEADERS SUMMIT A UNIFIED VOICE FOR PROGRESS

What a remarkable and impactful gathering! The Ukambani Young Leaders Summit successfully brought together young leaders and changemakers from Kitui, Machakos, and Makueni under one platform to engage in meaningful conversations on the challenges facing our region and, more importantly, explore practical solutions for sustainable progress.

The summit was championed by three student leadership bodies, united by one vision:

Chris Muli — President, Kitui University Student Association (KUSA)
Faith Musau — President, MCUCSYA
Kisila — President, Makueni University Student Association (MUSA)

Together, they brought leaders from the three counties to the table, demonstrating that when we unite beyond borders, institutions, and individual interests, we can build a stronger and more prosperous Ukambani.

This was more than just a summit. It was a conversation about our future, a platform for ideas, and a commitment to collective action.

From Kitui to Machakos and Makueni, the message was clear: our shared challenges require a shared vision and collective solutions.

The journey does not end with the summit. The real success will be measured by the actions, partnerships, and solutions that emerge from the conversations we have started.
