In Loving Memory

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Nelly Barasa Wanjala, a student of Mount Kenya University.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Nelly’s family, relatives, friends, classmates, and fellow students during this difficult and painful time. May you find strength, comfort, and peace in the memories you shared with her.

Nelly will be remembered as a valued member of the Mount Kenya University community. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and interacted with her.

Mount Kenya University and it's affiliate TVET - Equip Africa Institute, marked World Oral Health Day 2026 with a impactful free dental outreach in Kapenguria, West Pokot County 🦷.

Over 2,000 community members benefited from dental check-ups, oral health education, and donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste to support better oral hygiene.

Speaking during the event, leaders commended the alumni-led initiative for promoting preventive healthcare and expanding access to essential services in underserved communities.

This outreach highlights MKU’s continued commitment to community wellbeing and training health professionals who make a real difference.
