Good evening! Am Dr. Oseno Ben. I wish to inform all students who have been admitted at various universities and TVETs to apply for the government scholarship and HELB. Deadline application date is 27.8.23. It is by applying that the government is going to categorize the students into the four groups of ; Vulnerable, Extremely Needy, Needy and Less Needy. Please parents and students, don't be discouraged by the university fee indicated in those admission letters you have received because the government is going to pay part of that money depending on the category a student is going to be classified into. For the Vulnerable students the government is going to pay 82% and HELB 18%, Extremely Needy students government pays 70% and HELB 30%, Needy students government pays 53%,HELB 40%, Parents 7% and for Less Needy students the government pays 38%,HELB 55% and Parents 7%. Am pleading with you all not to miss out on this golden opportunity by failing to apply for the Government Scholarship and HELB. There are network challenges with those trying to make applications at Magunga,Sindo, Sori Dhiwa , Mbita ,Nyatike and Muhuru such that just a few applications do go through in a day and mainly at night. Please let the students go to places like Home-Bay and Migori towns to make applications. Please brothers and sisters let us spend Ksh. 1000 or more on transport to go to towns where you can make applications and get the university and college fee paid for you than sitting back home worried of the fee structure and complaining about the network.
