This is linked to a gene called ABCC11.

A specific version of this gene, extremely common in Koreans and several other East Asian populations, affects the production of apocrine sweat, the type of sweat most responsible for body odor.

Sweat itself is almost odorless. The smell develops when skin bacteria break down compounds found in apocrine sweat, especially in areas like the armpits.

People with the ABCC11 variant produce much lower amounts of these compounds, giving bacteria less material to create odor.

Studies have found that the vast majority of Koreans carry this gene variant.

As a result, many experience little or no noticeable underarm odor compared to populations where the variant is less common.

The same gene is also associated with another unusual trait: earwax type.

People with the odor-reducing variant are more likely to have dry, flaky earwax, while those without it typically have wet, sticky earwax.

Healthy males experience multiple erections throughout the day and night, many of them completely unrelated to sexual arousal.

The most common occur during REM sleep, when the brain is highly active.

Most men experience three to five nighttime erections that can last a total of two to three hours.

Over a lifetime, that adds up to hundreds of thousands of erections. An estimate of around 250,000 isn't unreasonable for someone who lives into old age with normal sexual health.

The purpose isn't just reproduction. Regular erections help maintain healthy blood flow and oxygen delivery to pe**le tissue.

Doctors sometimes use the presence of nighttime erections to help determine whether erectile dysfunction has a physical or psychological cause.

The “Jesus Nut” is a real nickname used in the helicopter industry.

The Jesus Nut is the large retaining nut that secures the main rotor mast to the rotor hub on many helicopter designs.

It is one of the most critical components in the aircraft because it helps keep the spinning rotor system attached to the helicopter.

The nickname comes from pilots and mechanics joking that if this nut ever failed in flight, the only thing left to do would be “pray to Jesus.”

The term became widely known after it appeared in military aviation culture and was later popularized in books and films.

However, modern helicopters are designed with extremely strict engineering standards.

The Jesus Nut is made from high-strength aerospace metals, inspected regularly, and often backed by additional retention systems.
