A Global Learning Moment – A classroom without walls!
It was a great moment when Kasidi STEAMLabs Africa code club students met their peers from St. Thomas Aquinas Academy (STAA) in the USA in a well-coordinated virtual cultural exchange session.
The discussion was amazing, with learners from both sides openly sharing their experiences, cultures, and ways of life.
What stood out clearly was the disparity in access to technology and the wide digital divide. While learners in first-world contexts enjoy abundant classroom technologies, many schools in Africa—including Kenya—are still striving to catch up. Nonetheless, this experience reaffirmed our belief that we shall get there through collaboration, innovation, and persistence.
My sincere gratitude goes to the STAA Principal and the Kasidi Junior School Principal for granting the opportunity to connect our learners beyond borders. Special appreciation to Mr. Ovin Nyarango for his immense support and for initiating and facilitating the discussion from the STAA classroom.
These global connections are powerful—they build empathy, broaden perspectives, and inspire our learners to dream bigger.

We are appealing for financial support for Patricia Nyamoki Dzuya, a hardworking and disciplined student who is yet to join Grade 10 due to lack of school fees.
Patricia completed her KJSEA at Kasidi Junior School and has been admitted to Kombeni Senior School (Cluster One) to pursue the Social Sciences pathway.
Her parents are hardworking but earn very little—her father sells ice to make a living, while her mother is a housewife with no income. Despite their efforts, they are unable to raise the required school fees.
