As a young parent you make choices every day. You can choose to leave your little one with a nanny at home or take them to play school. Chances are when you leave the with a nanny, she will probably switch on the Tv for them to watch cartoons most of the day. You can also choose to bring them to early years learning where they explore, learn and play with others. ๐ ๐ฏ ๐คพ
Play stimulates cognitive development, it supports language development, enhances problem solving skills and encourages creativity. Play supports a variety of skills, physical, gross and fine motor skills which also support writing and grip. Active play promotes muscle development, enhances imagination, communication skills, and helps coordination and overall health. Play also facilitates natural curiosity, enabling children to make connections, understand what is seen, heard and experienced in their world.
That is why at Ubuntu Junior Academy we have created an amazing play and experiential learning space for early years learners. Our well-manicured outdoor field opens a whole new play experience; the sand pit is the place where they unlock their imagination. At the swings, slides, see saw and monkey bar, they learn how to take turns as they strengthen their motor skills. Little wonder that by 1 pm they are ready for the much-needed afternoon nap, each in their own bed ready to cuddle with their familiar blanket.
