Every morning, they are among the first people our Champions see and every afternoon, they are among the last familiar faces they meet before heading home.

We often see them behind the wheels, but their role goes far beyond driving. They care, they guide, they listen, they encourage — and every day, they help make our Champions feel safe and cared for.

Today, our Transport Team stepped out from behind the wheels and into the spotlight, leading our Joint Morning Assembly. They led us in prayer, reminded our Champions about road and travel safety, celebrated good behaviour and presented our Star of the Bus awards.

The weather was chilly, but their warmth, care and love for our Champions truly warmed our hearts.

Because at Kivulini Schools, we don’t just transport children — we journey with them, care for them and help them grow.

We are a family. And our Transport Team is an important part of that family.

Before we ask our Champions to perform, we must first ensure that they are okay.

At Kivulini Schools, our Learners Welfare Office is more than just an office. It is a welcoming, safe and caring space where our Champions know they can always find someone to listen, support, guide and encourage them.

WHEN A CHILD IS GIVEN THE RIGHT PLATFORM, GREATNESS HAS NO AGE LIMIT.

At just 7 years old, Kyle Njuki Njeru is already showing us what happens when talent meets opportunity, discipline and the right environment to grow.

His chess journey at Kivulini Schools began with local junior tournaments and has grown into something truly remarkable. From winning multiple U6, U7 and U8 competitions to representing Kenya at the African Youth Chess Championship in Entebbe, Uganda, Kyle has continued to rise to every challenge.
At the continental championship, playing against Africa's strongest young players, he scored an impressive 5.5/9, finishing 6th in Africa and tied 4th in Kenya in the U8 Open category.

And he wasn't done! At the 2026 National Finals, Kyle scored an outstanding 8/11 points, earning another opportunity to fly the Kenyan flag at the African Finals in Windhoek, Namibia, this December 🇳🇦🇰🇪

From a little boy moving chess pieces across a board to playing against Africa's finest young minds—and even receiving an invitation to meet H.E. Dr. Kimani Wamatangi, the Governor of Kiambu County, where he played a game of chess—Kyle's journey is a beautiful reminder:

Children don't just need classrooms. They need opportunities to discover what they are capable of.

At Kivulini, we believe in nurturing the whole champion—academically, socially, creatively and through sport and talent. Chess is more than a game; it builds critical thinking, concentration, patience, confidence, strategy and resilience—skills that go far beyond the chessboard.

Today, Kyle is headed to Windhoek. Tomorrow, who knows how far his dreams will take him?

Our September–November Foundation Programme at Kivulini Schools Crèche offers a play-based, nurturing environment where little ones develop essential skills for a smooth transition to school.

Through play and guided activities, Champions build communication, social interaction, confidence, independence, toileting skills, fine & gross motor skills, and early learning skills.

Give them a head start. Let January find them ready, confident and excited to learn.

As August comes to an end, we close the month with hearts full of gratitude.

BACK TO SCHOOL PRAYER

As a new academic term begins, we commit all our children, families and school communities into God’s hands.

May He protect our children, guide our facilitators and staff, strengthen parents and guardians and grant us wisdom, patience and grace throughout the term.
