TRIBUTE TO OUR BELOVED LEARNER - YVONNE CHEPCHUMBA

With deep sorrow and loving remembrance, Lelani School honours the beautiful life of our beloved student, Yvonne Chepchumba.

Yvonne would have been in Grade 3 Orchid this year. Although she had not been physically present in school this academic year, she remained deeply connected to us and continued to be part of the Lelani School family.

She was an academically bright and expressive student with a genuine love for learning. She was disciplined and responsible, qualities that earned her several Golden Points vouchers, awarded to the most disciplined learners in class.

One of her favourite moments was redeeming those vouchers in the Computer Lab during her free time.

Beyond the classroom, she was loving, confident, self-driven, and mature beyond her age. She spoke openly and boldly, with a natural gift for storytelling.

Her creativity, beautiful laugh, and joyful spirit brought warmth and humour into every conversation.
Even while in hospital, Yvonne’s presence was deeply felt at Lelani School.

Through WhatsApp chats and calls with her teachers, she stayed connected, asked about her classmates, and brightened conversations with jokes and laughter. Her favourite comedy line, “Umekunywa Brufen?”, remains a cherished memory of her humour and strength.

Yvonne loved sharing stories and videos about her brother and baby sister, a beautiful reflection of how deeply she loved her family. She also spoke about her illness and treatment with remarkable understanding and courage, in a way one would not expect from a child her age.

To us, Yvonne will always be a symbol of strength and resilience. She taught us that bravery can be found in a child who continues to smile, laugh, love, and hope even in the most difficult moments.
To her dear parents, siblings, and family, please receive our deepest condolences and love from the entire Lelani School community.

Thank you for allowing us to know, teach, love, and walk part of this journey with your precious daughter.

Yvonne will always be part of Lelani School. She will always be part of our hearts.

Rest well, Baby; You were brave, beautiful in spirit, and you will never be forgotten.
