🎉 One Year of Acakoro Homa Bay! ⚽📚🌱
Monday marked one year since we officially opened the Acakoro Campus in Homa Bay - and what a year it has been.
Over the past 12 months, we have worked to build much more than a football academy. We have created a strong learning environment, supported the personal development of our students and players, and seen encouraging progress and performances on the football pitch.
But our impact goes beyond the classroom and the field.
We are especially proud that the campus has created employment opportunities for local staff, built strong and reliable relationships with local suppliers, service providers and partners, and become increasingly connected to the community around us. From the very beginning, the reception we have received in Homa Bay has been incredibly positive, and we are deeply grateful for the trust, support and openness shown to us.
The first year was about building, learning, adapting and establishing ourselves. Now, with those foundations in place, our focus is shifting toward the next stage: continuously improving the quality and professionalism of the project while creating an even greater and more sustainable impact for the surrounding community. That is why we have already started with the identification of talented boys from the local community to form an U10 team and have created three scholarships for academically outstanding grade 7 students.
There is still a lot we want to improve and achieve, but we are excited about what lies ahead.
A big thank you to our students, players, staff, families, neighbours, suppliers, partners, supporters and the entire Homa Bay community for being part of this journey.
