Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School popularly known as Bee Gee Ngandu, was founded in the 1960s by the late Bishop Caesar Gatimu and was run by the Comboni mission in Karatina, Nyeri County, Kenya. It took the name of the area where it was situated, i.e., Ngandu Girls' High School, and the name was later changed to honor its founder. The late Sister Nazarena Zonta and her deputy ran the school until 1983. Lay principals (or headmistresses) have headed the school since. Helen Waweru - Hsc, who attended the school 1966- 1969 as a student and the Principal from 1983- 2003 ,The school's Old Girls' -Alumnae have a vibrant group known as ONGA - Old Ngandu girls Association, Founded in 1987 by Ms. Helen Waweru and other girls, the scocial media groups are https://www.facebook.com/groups/ngandualumni, and on Instagram . The group visits the school to talk to the student body and offer them career advice, mentorship, funds drive to support infrastructure and leadership. It has ten streams from form 1 to 4 .The school motto was UNITY IS STRENGTH which changed to EMPOWERED TO SERVE .
