WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW ABOUT 🍎🍏APPLE FARMING IN KENYA?

1) No of seedlings per acre:700
2) Spacing:2mx3m
3) Hole size:2ftX2ft
4) During planting use 1debe of well-rotted manure per hole (20kg)
5) During planting use 10 liters of water after planting
6) Soil should be well drained, don’t plant on water logged soils or swampy areas

 Production starts from 9 months and keeps on increasing after 3year after planting u start get the highest numbers of fruits per tree in a season

One🍎 Apple tree yields over 300 fruits annually at maximum production. If sold at 15/- minimum per fruit, a tree can earn you over Kshs 4500/- per annum

Advantages of grafting apples with M9 rootstock
1.This rootstock promotes dwarfing, which results in smaller trees that are easier to manage, prune, and harvest.This makes the apples mature after 9 months of planting.
2. The reduced tree size also allows for higher planting density, increasing orchard productivity.
3. M9 rootstock improves precocity, leading to earlier fruit production(9 months) compared to standard rootstocks.
