47 years of service (and still counting), 6 years between first teaching assignment and Principal role, early retirement at 50 years old.

John P. Makenzi is a visionary, celebrated for his focus on boy-centred education. The "teacher of boys" continues to support boys on their education and manhood journey. At 73, he is actively working and shares both his journey and how the support of teachers under his leadership has always been the basis of his success; including producing the first A grade in Machakos county.

Mackenzie Education Centre is both his retirement plan and a testament of commitment.
