On the 16th of March, we hosted students from Africa Nazarene University led by their professor Mr. Stephen Kagwathi

It was a great learning experience for our grade 7 and 8 students. In the spirit of CBC, music, and dance were used as teaching tools. The event was full of fun and laughter and our students learnt a lot.

Today we held our Thanksgiving ceremony at KIawambogo ACK church to thank the almighty God for his blessings:
- 2023 we posted the best results since the introduction of the 8-4-4 system
- We produced the best pupil in Kangema sub-county
- For the 1st time in the history of the school we are taking a student to the prestigious Alliance Boys High School

We thank the Lord for the favor and blessings.

We also held an award ceremony where 16 students who scored over 300 marks were awarded. Our teachers were also not left behind as we appreciated the good work they have been doing.

Members of Kiawambogo community in Nairobi contributed towards this ceremony together with BOM members.

The vicar Rev. Gitonga of ACK Kiawambogo awarded the top 4 pupils (with above 350 marks) each with Kshs 2,000 to buy the box as per the pledge he made during prayers day.

We also appreciate the support received from director John Kimani, Gatunguru Tea factory, and KTDA foundation for providing our top pupil with a 4-year scholarship.

Friday last week, the class of 2023, their parents, teachers, and members of the community took to the streets of Kiawambogo to celebrate the 2023 KCPE results.

It has been a long and treacherous journey since 2015 when the school hit rock bottom with a mean score of 194.6 and last in Kangema and to a mean score of 286.6 in 2023.

To crown it all Kiawambogo finished the 8-4-4 in style by producing the top score in Kangema of 410 by one Brian Gicheru.

2023 KCPE results are out and we thank God for enabling our pupils to sit for the exam and for the good results.

As expected, our candidates this year posted very impressive results and for the first time, one of our candidates scored over 400 marks (410).

Key Highlights
• For the first time we have a candidate with over 400 marks
• Mean score improved by 20.6 from 266 to 286.6
• 46% of our pupils scored over 300 marks (16 pupils) compared to 30% (10 pupils) last year
• 74% of our pupils scored over 250 marks (26 pupils) compared to 66% (22 pupils) last year
We are very grateful and humbled and we thank God for enabling our candidates to pass their exams that well.

We say a big thank you to our teachers for the great work they are doing, members of BOM, mentors, our parents who have been very supportive, and members of the community who have stood with us from when we were at the bottom till now and of course our class of 2023 for making us proud.

We say adios to 8-4-4 in style and on to CBC.

Kiawambogo Primary School Computers Handover & Girls Mentorship

Yesterday we held a very colourful ceremony at Kiawambogo primary where:
1. We received computers donated by members of Kiawambogo fraternity
2. Grade 6, 7 and class 8 were introduced to computers
3. Mentored grade 6, 7 and class 8
4. Our grade 6, 7 and class 8 girls were mentored and taken through menstrual health hygiene and sanitary towels handed over

While no one can predict the future with absolute certainty, it’s clear that the world of work is changing, just as the world itself is. As a community we must look ahead at how work will shift, along with trends affecting the workforce and workplaces, and ensure that our pupils at a tender age are well prepared for what’s next and for the future of work.

IT studies are part of the CBC curriculum starting from Junior secondary but we want our pupils to start interacting with computers as early as grade 1 if not earlier.

As a community we need to produce experts in areas which are in demand in current and future job market which include:
• Software developers
• Data scientists
• Artificial Intelligence specialists -- Machine learning engineers
• Information security experts
• Computer network architects
• DevOps Engineers
• Cloud Engineers
• Blockchain experts
• Internet of things expert
• Robotic engineers

With the computers handed over by the members of Kiawambogo community today, we now embark on a journey to ensure that our pupils are well prepared for the future.

Last Friday our pupils (both primary and Junior secondary) received some sport shoes courtesy of Jennifer Muthoni Wanyeki and the rotary club of Nairobi East.

This was the 2nd time the rotary club of Nairobi East was visiting us. Some 4 years back we received books which made a very big impact.

We are very grateful to Jennifer and the rotary club of Nairobi East for their kind donation.

Today we held a very successful motivational session for our students with biggest attendance ever. We met:
• Our 2023 call 8
• Those joining form 1
• Those in different secondary schools
• Those who sat for their KCSE in 2022

Our guest of honor was Hon. Mr. Paul Kimani Mugo, CEC, Trade, Tourism. Industry and cooperative movement Murang’a county. Mr. Mugo highly motivated our kids, him having schooled at neighboring Kihoya primary. He rewarded all the students who were top 5 in class 7, 8 and even those in different secondary school.

We had several pupils from Kanguru in attendance.

We also shared the good news with the students that 2 Kiawambogo pupils received Equity Wings to Fly scholarship and highly motivated our current class 8 to work hard.

Here are some key highlights about our school performance:
• Mean Score: Improved from 259 last year to 266 this year
• Over 300 marks: 30% of our pupils (10) scored over 300 marks compared to 33% (12) last year
• Over 250 marks: 67% of our pupils (22) scored over 250 marks compared to 61% (22) last year
