On 2nd April, the planned Harambe at Smart Kids Academy - Homabay took place. The target was to raise Ksh.302,000 for building one brick walled classroom. The proceeds from harambe totaled Ksh.15,670 in cash and Ksh.8,000 + 4 iron sheets in pledges.

With the amount received, iron sheets for construction of a new classroom were bought as the already existing classroom had collapsed.

The management is still grappling with the financial challenges facing the school and calls upon the community to assist in setting up classrooms, washrooms and a kitchen for the children of Smart Kids Academy - Homabay.

Education in the formative years, is core to the development of a child.

At Smart Kids Academy - Homabay, the Headteacher Ms. Tabitha is a key instrument in the teaching and learning of her pupils. With a cummulative teaching experience of 13 years, Her passion for teaching ECD learners is visible as she teaches her pupils and even walks them home after a busy day at school. She serves diverse roles beyond what would be described as the " the norm".

It is her dream to see the school grow. She believes that the lack of requisite infrastructure and the constant factor of the humble background of her pupils is a temporary issue; and a time will come when the focus will be on learning and teaching with fewer challenges, when the community joins hands in the funding of various key resources necessary for the day to day learning at the school.

The only structure in the school. Its hosts the PP2 and play group classes and the staff room.

It can get quite distracting to have all these activities in a space with no demacation and is falling apart as it is a temporary structure.

The schools call out to the community for continous support in our quest to build a space for learning and other school activities.

This is a plea to the Community, for support.

Smart Kids Academy - Homabay is critical to the growth and development of children in Homabay.

The will and drive to learn and teach for the students and the teachers respectively is visible. It's alive.

But the challenges facing the School are immense and require swift action.

No classrooms coupled with the poor general infrastructure in the school can be disheartening.

This is a picture of the PP1 class in session. They have to study under a tree, as there is no classroom, chairs, tables, chalkboard and the teachers have to make do with what they have.

This is a plea for support so that the school can build classrooms, a functional kitchen and enhance security of the school for its students to have a proper learning environment.

This is the fourth (4th) lot to graduate from Smart Kids Academy - Homabay . What a beautiful day it was.

Despite the challenges faced, the student community, parents and community were overjoyed and encouraged during the 2022 graduation.

Congratulations to the young ones as they join Grade one next week.

School time is such a special time for child development. Among other beneficial factors, peer interaction is key in their development. Parents in homabay are encouraged to enroll their children for Early childhood development education at the prescribed ages at institutions like Smart Kids Academy - Homabay to ensure holistic learning.

"When children play or interact with their peers, they are learning more about social behavior, including how to express themselves, how to take turns, and how to apply empathy when dealing with others. When children are able to control their emotions, they can make better decisions and exercise more judgment than a child with poor emotion regulation. Our teachers are ready for the happenings of the term.

Smart Kids Academy - Homabay is faced with a number of challenges that we believe are solvable with the help of our community, countrymen and women and the global community.

Due to financial challenges faced by our students, the total population of the school struggle with fee payment, and this has a ripple effect in the operations of the school.

This is a plea to everyone to come on board to assist in the running of operations in the school for this academic year. This can be in form of donations ranging from food supplies, stationery and finances.
