The culmination of their educational journey was a well-deserved boat ride on Lake Victoria. Providing a unique perspective on the lake's ecosystem, its significance for local communities and the challenges of environmental conservation.

The trip also featured an educational tour of the Kisumu International Airport, offering a glimpse into aviation operations, logistics and the economic impact of air travel on the region. The young learners got to understand and interact with different career opportunities in the aviation field. Looking forward to seeing more Pilots , Hostesses, Engineers, Airplane dispatchers from Teresia’s Schools.

Following the agricultural exploration, the learners delved into the rich cultural and historical heritage of the area at the Kisumu National Museum. Observing exhibits on local traditions, archaeology and natural history accompanied by a very entertaining traditional dance by the local artists.

Our learners embarked on an enriching educational trip to Kisumu, focusing on practical learning experiences. The itinerary included a visit to the Ahero Irrigation Scheme where learners gained firsthand insight into large-scale rice cultivation and irrigation techniques crucial for food security in the country. This provided a valuable opportunity to understand agricultural engineering and sustainable farming practices. The Ahero Irrigation Scheme is a major rice farming project located in the Kano Plains of Kenya. It started as a pilot project to test the viability of irrigation in the area, and has since expanded to cover 7,868 acres. The scheme is known for its rice production, but also cultivates other crops like soybeans, watermelon, maize, and various pulses.
