It takes 2 weeks to cement new habits into a routine. Here are 6 worth the commitment:
1. MAKE A PLACE FOR EVERYTHING.
Stay organized. Make sure that everything has a home: backpack, homework, and if attending school, shoes, jacket, lunch box, etc. You may struggle through the process in the beginning, but soon it’ll become a habit. Life is so much easier when time isn’t wasted searching for things.
2. DEVELOP GOOD HABITS.
Always pack up or organize the night before. Take care of the basics: get enough nutrition, water, sleep, and be prepared for the next day’s adventures.
3. COMMUNICATE EARLY
Communicate with your teachers early in the school year. Once the line is open, it’s easier to ask questions later or seek assistance on courses you are struggling with.
4. CREATE A HOMEWORK ROUTINE
Create a homework routine- the same place and time each day, with plenty of time to complete work. Having a routine lessens the incidence of procrastination and missed assignments.
5. DEVELOP GOOD LEARNING SKILLS
Good learning will not only result in less time being spent with the book itself, but it will also significantly increase your retention rate and improve your school grades. Some of the best advice on how to develop good learning skills in college is this:
- Study in short but frequent intervals
- Make your own examples
- Elaborate
- Be critical and ask questions about the matter
- Use visuals and mental maps
- Take different study approaches
6. GET A HOBBY
Do something extracurricular. Try something new that you can have ownership of! Like singing, dancing, biking, or photography. Learning new things not only exercises the brain, but also builds competency, creates memories, increases social opportunities, and develops new skills.

Wewe ni lefty? Leo ni sku yako! 😀
In a world dominated by right-handers, International Lefthanders Day on August 13 celebrates lefties. The day was first observed by the founder of Lefthanders International, Inc. — Dean R. Campbell, in 1976. and has been celebrated every year since.
Some of the greatest people in history were/are left-handed, like Mother Teresa, Barack Obama, Walt Disney, Bill Gates, Charlie Chaplin, Mark Zuckerberg, Prince William, Oprah Winfrey, Angelina Jolie, Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Julia Roberts, and Albert Einstein, to name a few. Closer home, we have president Uhuru Kenyatta, and veteran journalists Jeff Koinange, Jackie Maribe, and Kirigo Nga'rua.
Did you know that the World's population comprises at least 10% left-handers? This group of people is unique and is usually associated with high IQ levels and reaching puberty early with at least 5 months according to studies which also indicate they think with the right side of their brains.
Tag a lefty you know and let them know you celebrate their uniqueness! 🤗

Tunadai elections bila noma, au sio? 👊
The youth hold the future of this country. This is the time to make a difference by choosing the right leaders. You must desist from being used as political tools of violence against each other or as agents of hate through social media. We urge you to use your platform to preach peace and influence positive change for Kenya.
May peace, love, and unity prevail.
