World Environmental Education Day
January 26

Every January 26th, the World celebrates Environmental Education Day, since the International Workshop on Environmental Education in Belgrade in 1975.

It established principles of environmental education published in the Belgrade Charter.

The goals are to develop awareness about environmental issues, foster commitment towards solutions, and prevent new problems.

Learning about sustainability involves understanding the interdependence between the environment, society, and economics.

Want some ideas? Study climate change, sustainable development, environmental preservation, renewable energies, soil regeneration, permaculture, and get acquainted with how the indigenous had always maintained local ecosystems before we called it "environmentalism"!

Observe the Weather Day
January 25,

Observe the Weather Day on January 25th encourages each one of us to go outside and observe the weather!

We are so obsessed with our daily to-do list that we tend to forget to look up, notice what is all around us just under our noses.

Have fun watching the weather at different times of the day, and writing down your thoughts and observations in a special notebook. Start with the temperatures.

Then, write down all that you observe through your senses. What kind of feelings does the weather give you? Note the sensations on your skin and how it looks, smells, and sounds like.

Learn about the different types of clouds, the origin of rain, lightning, snow, and more!
