Second Largest Public University in Kenya,East Africa Moi University is located in Eldoret, 310 kilometers northwest of Nairobi, the Capital City of Kenya.

It was established as the second university in Kenya by an Act of Parliament, the Moi University Act of 1984. The first cohort of 83 students was admitted in 1984 through a transfer from the Department of Forestry, University of Nairobi. Moi University Inspires Future Leaders at Kapsabet Career Fair and Exhibition

On 6th June 2026, Moi University participated in a Career Fair and Exhibition as the lead institution at Kapsabet Girls High School, engaging students from Kapsabet Girls High School, Kapsabet Boys High School, Kapsabet School for the Deaf, Terige Boys High School, St. Joseph's Girls High School, and other institutions.

Led by Prof. Loice Maru, the University team encouraged learners to make informed career choices, embrace leadership opportunities, and pursue their dreams with confidence and determination.

The event provided a valuable platform for students to interact with professionals, institutions, and industry leaders who shared their experiences, career journeys, and insights on mentorship, networking, and personal growth.

At Moi University, we're committed to supporting young people through education, mentorship, and career guidance as they prepare to shape the future.

Moi University joined the world in celebrating World Environment Day 2026 through a tree planting exercise at the Main Campus.
Led by Ag. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Kiplagat Kotut, the University reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability and support for Kenya’s goal of growing 15 billion trees by 2032. The event also marked the launch of the final phase of Moi University’s target to plant at least 10,000 trees during the 2025/2026 Financial Year.
The University also received 1,000 tree seedlings from Eldoret-Iten Water Fund in partnership with ELDOWAS

Together, we continue to promote environmental stewardship, climate action, and a greener future for generations to come.
