IGA TRAINING - ZIWA TTI
Nestled within the growing landscape of technical and vocational education in the region, Ziwa Technical Training Institute opened its doors this week to educators, administrators, and sector stakeholders for a two-day capacity building program with a clear and urgent message: TVET institutions can — and must — become engines of their own sustainability.
The program, themed *"Building Sustainable TVET Institutions Through Enterprise Development and Optimal Use of Idle Capacities,"* brought together IGAs representative from Moiben TVC and Turbo TVC and host ZiwaTTI to confront a challenge that many technical institutions quietly grapple with — underutilized workshops, dormant equipment, and untapped skills that sit idle while institutions struggle financially.
The timing of the program reflects a broader reckoning within the TVET sector. As government funding remains unpredictable and competition for student enrollment intensifies, institutions that cannot diversify their revenue streams face an uncertain future. Ziwa TTI's initiative signals a growing consensus that self-reliance is no longer optional — it is a survival strategy.

Ziwa Technical Training Institute has positioned itself not just as a host, but as a model — demonstrating that with the right knowledge, the right partnerships, and the will to act, TVET institutions can build futures that are both educationally excellent and financially resilient.
