COMPUTING & INFORMATICS ACADEMIC TRIP | GOOGLE I/O EXTENDED KISUMU 2026

Learning goes beyond the classroom!

Today, students and lecturers from the Computing and Informatics Department at Bondo Technical Training Institute attended the Google I/O Extended Kisumu - Build with AI event at Zone01 Kisumu, Lake Basin Mall.

The event offered an exciting opportunity to explore the latest developments in Artificial Intelligence through interactive sessions and practical demonstrations. Our students gained valuable insights into AI-powered applications, modern software development, Android workflows, self-healing infrastructure, and Google's free learning and certification opportunities.

Beyond the technical sessions, the event gave our learners a chance to interact with developers, technology professionals, and fellow students who share a passion for innovation. Experiences like these help bridge the gap between classroom learning and the fast-changing world of technology.

STRENGTHENING TVET THROUGH STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS

Bondo Technical Training Institute today welcomed the KOICA Project Management Consultant (PMC) Monitoring Team and partners in a monitoring and learning visit to review the progress of the dual TVET programme in Bondo Technical Training Institute.

The KOICA PMC team met with institute management, trainers, trainees and stakeholders to discuss the status of dual TVET implementation, training, class room and worksite issues among other concerns. It was an opportunity for the team to learn about the institute’s work on gender mainstreaming and share experiences and lessons on ways to improve linkages between training institutions and industry.

We at Bondo Technical Training Institute are determined to produce quality graduates using state of the art technology through the development of partnerships, innovations and by providing quality training. We also appreciate the immense support extended by our partners in boosting Technical and Vocational Education and Training in the country.
