Different Prayers, Same God

In life, everyone is running — some toward something, others away from something. Some pray for success, others just for survival. One person’s blessing might be another’s burden, yet both hearts cry out to the same heaven. Life is strange that way; what you thank God for might be what someone else begs Him to take away. We often forget that the same sun that melts wax also hardens clay. So, don’t be quick to judge another’s path or question why their answers look different from yours. Just keep believing, keep pushing, and keep trusting the process. Because in the end, it’s not about whose prayer is louder — it’s about whose faith stays firm when nothing seems to make sense.

To the Kaboson family, Holy Family, RVST Nakuru fraternity, Chebures and Kabecherek clan, Bomet and fellow Kenyans, we mourn the tragic loss of 25-year-old Melissa Cherotich, a young lady from Yoywana village. Melissa's life was cut short in a heartbreaking display of medical negligence at Mbagathi Hospital. After developing labor pains at seven months pregnant, she rushed to the hospital on Wednesday, September 10th, and delivered a baby boy on the 11th, who is fortunately thriving in the nursery. However, her life took a devastating turn when she slipped and fell while bathing on the 13th at the same facility , causing severe swelling in both hands. Despite informing the nurses and requesting an X-ray, Melissa was met with skepticism and accusations of pretence.

For eleven agonizing days, Melissa suffered in silence, unable to express milk for her baby. It wasn't until she lost consciousness that the nurses took her condition seriously and notified her family. Upon their arrival on the 23rd, they quickly had her taken for an X-ray, which revealed the severity of her condition. She was immediately referred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where she was admitted to the ICU. Tragically, Melissa passed away at 11 pm the same day, leaving behind a grieving family and community. Her baby boy continues to receive care and love in the nursery at Mbagathi Hospital.

Melissa's death is a painful reminder of the consequences of neglect and abandonment.

It is with deep sorrow that I, on behalf of the school, announce the sudden passing of our dedicated subordinate staff, Michael Rotich . We are deeply saddened by this loss, as he was part of our school family and served our children with commitment. Kindly keep the family and our school community in your prayers during this difficult time.
