One of the uniqueness of Business Engineering Lab is that BE lab is consisted from multi-national students. Students are able to learn and experience the challenge in cross cultural environment. Students will learn the importance of the willingness to understand the people from different countries or the regions that will bring different values and viewpoints.

【Dynamism: experience of starting business】
Some of you have already heard but I would like to catch your attention.
On Mar 25, Society and Business Game Lab is planning an exciting business game called 'Dynamism' as one of it's activity. Horizon Works (www.horizonworks.co.jp) will be invited and provide us a technical and knowledge assistance.
You will be able to experience starting up business through this game So if anybody thinking of starting business after getting your degree, I would like to encourage you to sign up. If you are interested please contact Assistant Professor Ms. Sato as it seems there are still several spots open to join this exciting game.

【Fujitsu and Sony Company Visits: Nov. 17】
Visiting lecturer, Professor Paul Schönsleben of ETH, Professor Nakano, Assistant Professor Sato and around 20 students of Supply Chain Management and Business Game class visited two of the famous Japanese manufacturing companies Fujitsu and Sony as part of the lecture.
The purpose of visit was :
- to understand the actual business by looking the site by their own eyes
- to understand the depth in business, complexity of the supply chain through the interviews

On behalf of Prof. Nakano and Assistant Prof. Sato, we would like to express our sincere appreciation to the people of Fujitsu and Sony for giving us an opportunity to visit your good company. We believe that students had valuable experiences through the visits.

【Society and Business Game Lab: Cross Lab】
I would like have your attention and introduce a brand new lab called "Society and Business Game Lab". This new lab is a cross laboratory which will be led by Professor Nakano and Professor Takano, Assistant Professor Sato and Tomaru.
The aim of Society and Business Game Lab is to find the solution on various of social problems by using the business game. As many of you know that Business Game is commonly known as a method which can be applied to a wide range of fields such as psychology, economics, political science.

【Visiting Scholarship Programme】
As you can see from the posting, Mizuho Sato-san has just started her visiting scholarship in Montclair State University in US. http://www.montclair.edu/
Her visit is under Keio's "Design the Future" Fund which many of you have already know that the fund is to cultivate the future leaders for the global societies. http://keio150.jp/english/initiative/design_the_future_award.html
Sato-san will join internship in during her stay in US and also she will be studying to further enhance her expertise on business game.

APMS 2015 International Conference
Advances in Production and Management Systems will be held in Tokyo during Sep 5-7, 2015.
Theme of the conference is: Innovative production management towards sustainable growth Service, Manufacturing and Resilient Value-Chain. http://www.apms-conference.org/index.php

I would like to draw your attention as many of the BE Lab members are involved in this conference.

First of all, and most importantly, Prof. Masaru Nakano is one of the Vice Chair of this committee.
Secondly, Prof. Shoensleben of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, Switzerland (https://www.ethz.ch/en.html) and Prof. Taisch of Politechnico di Milano, Italy (http://www.polimi.it/en/) is participating as a member of International Scientific Committee.
As you may already know, SDM already have agreement on International Collaboration on research and exchange programs with both universities.

In addition, Dr. Sato, Dr. Tomaru and Dr. Nonaka is participating as the member of program committee. And this year at this conference, Melanie who was at our SDM as a visiting researcher from Cambridge University, Kamila-san (D1) and Kobayashi-san (M2) will be delivering presentations.
