Idioms:
Once in a blue moon, we use idioms in English. That's because from time to time we like to spice things up! Sometimes we take for granted the amazing English you all have and, under the impression that you are fluent, forget to take into account that a Japanese person who knows all these idioms is one in a million! Yet, if you want to hold your own in an English conversation and avoid sticking out like a sore thumb, you're going to need idioms, mark my words!

In a nutshell, we thought we would take this opportunity before we get cold feet to start imparting our idiom wisdom! About once a week we will share and discuss the meaning of a common idiom, and have a whale of a time learning together!

With Profundity:
In the colloquial zeitgeist of American dialect, idioms are distinctive marks of sophistry and intellectual prowess. Oftentimes as flawed individual teachers we lack the conscientiousness requisite in appreciating the intricacies of vernacular English and its underlying idioms, notwithstanding the low probability that any Japanese individual could comprehend these myriad idioms! However, if intending to master the English language and maneuver nuanced conversation, there is no doubt idioms will be oft used.

Therefore, endeavoring to impart wisdom, we have deemed it worthwhile to begin sharing idioms. Following this prefatory post we will upload idioms weekly. Let us all learn and exult together!

Normal English:
We use idioms (short figurative phrases) a lot in English, to be interesting. A lot of Japanese people don't learn idioms, even if they learn English, and we haven't taught many either! But, if you want to speak English like a native speaker, you will use idioms!

To say it simply, we thought we would start teaching idioms about once a week and enjoy learning interesting English together!

If you can't understand the top two versions, come to English class! Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7pm!
