生徒の皆様
保護者各位
すでにご存じの方もいらっしゃるかと思いますが、この度私トレバーは、米国企業であるソフトウェア開発・教育関連企業に、リモート雇用という形で勤めることが決まりました。つきましては、4月1日をもちまして、シュレイ・ウィルス先生に私のスクールを引き継いでいただくこととなりました。
シュレイ先生は10年以上の講師歴を有しており、大変生徒思いの勤勉な先生です。シュレイ先生に私のスクールを引き継いでいただくことができ、これ以上喜ばしいことはありません。6年半前に私が開校したこのスクールが今後も徳島のコミュニティと素晴らしい児童たちに貢献を続けられことに、心より感謝しております。彼女の素晴らしい指導のもと、スクールはきっとさらなる発展を遂げることでしょう。シュレイ先生と娘さんの今後のご活躍とご多幸をお祈り申し上げます。
スクールの立ち上げと継続において、楽しいことばかりでなく厳しい経験をしたこともありましたが、そのおかげで私は大きく成長することができました。私の夢を実現させてくれた生徒と保護者の皆様、本当にありがとうございました。スクールを開校し継続してこられたのも、ひとえに皆様のおかげであり、この感謝の思いを私と私の家族は生涯忘れることはないでしょう。
生徒の皆様のお顔見ることができず、笑い声を聞くことができなくなる――この決断をするのは容易ではありませんでした。開校当時から通ってくれているお子さんたちとともに、私のスクールも成長してまいりました。
人生はあっというまで、母国アメリカを離れてすでに14年が過ぎました。以来多くの変化を経て、最近はさらに時が進むのが早くなったように感じます。これまでの日本での生活は素晴らしいものではありましたが、悲しいけれど、八万町の私の小さなスクールにお別れを告げ、新たに、わが子らの将来にさらに有益となるであろう道を進むことを決意いたしました。
日本に住み続けられ、しかもアメリカ企業に勤めながらスキルを伸ばすことができるチャンスを与えられた今、さらに多くを学び、多くの人々に役立てられるよう、人生の次のステージに挑みたいと思います。
これまでのご支援とご愛顧に感謝すると同時に、皆様の益々のご活躍、御多幸を心からお祈り申し上げます
Students & Parents and friends in Tokushima,
As most of you already know, I have been hired for a remote position by a software development education company based in the United States. As a result of this, I will be handing my English school off to a new owner, Sherae Wills, as of April 1st.
Sherae has well over a decade of teaching experience and is extremely hardworking and devoted to her students. I couldn’t be happier that she is able to take this opportunity. It is thanks to her that the school I started by myself 6 and a half years ago can continue to serve the community and its wonderful children. And I am confident that she will do an excellent job as she always does. I hope the school will continue to grow and that Sherae and her daughter can benefit more and more from it.
It was a hard journey to start a business and succeed. It required a large amount of sacrifice and discipline but it taught me a lot and made me a much stronger person. Thank you, the parents, students and children of the community who helped my dream to start a school come true. It was you who made it happen and I will never forget you. You have given so much to me and my family through your support.
This has not been an easy decision to make and it makes me sad to think I won’t see the childrens’ faces or hear their laughter like I used to. Some of them have been coming since the very beginning and I have watched them grow so much.
Life is so short and I have spent almost 14 years away from my home in the US. Much has changed in that time and every year seems to pass a little faster. Japan has been very kind to me but, sad as it is to move on from my little school in Hachiman, I must consider my future and what I can provide for my children.
The ability to continue living in Japan while working for an American company and mastering a skill I love is an opportunity I cannot afford to miss. There are many more things to learn and many more people to help in this life and the time for the next stage has come.
Thank you all, again, for your support and your kindness. I will be forever grateful for it. And the best of luck pursuing your own dreams and adventures.
