🚆 Tokyo Metro is proud to support the capacity building of Vietnam Railway College as part of a technical cooperation project led by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

Last month, we had the pleasure of welcoming representatives from Vietnam to Japan, where we provided an in-depth overview of our railway systems — including operations, maintenance practices, and safety frameworks.

During the visit, they had the opportunity to observe a variety of actual railway sites, and we engaged in meaningful technical discussions on maintenance methods and practical know-how.

Through this initiative, we aim to share Tokyo Metro’s expertise in safe and reliable railway operations, and contribute to the development of railway systems not only in Vietnam but around the world.

We remain committed to global knowledge-sharing and cooperation in the railway sector.

We were honored to welcome the British Ambassador to Japan to Tokyo Metro.

This visit took place following the recent launch of railway operations on the Elizabeth line in London, United Kingdom, which Tokyo Metro has commenced as operator on behalf of Transport for London (TfL), together with The Go-Ahead Group and Sumitomo Corporation, as GTS Rail Operations Limited.

It was a valuable opportunity to exchange views on urban railway operations and further strengthen ties between the UK and Japan.

We sincerely thank the ambassador and the team at UK in Japan Tokyo for their visit.

🎓 We were honored to welcome a delegation from Kyungbuk College to Tokyo Metro’s training center last week.

The group included both professors and students interested in railway operations and safety management. During their visit, we introduced our approach to staff development — including hands-on training, simulator-based exercises, and Tokyo Metro’s safety-first philosophy.

Their thoughtful questions and international perspectives made for a truly meaningful exchange.

It was a great reminder that learning goes both ways — and that shared knowledge leads to stronger, safer railway systems.

📣 As part of Tokyo Metro Academy, we also offer customizable training programs for international organizations and institutions. These in-person programs can include technical lectures, site visits, and interactive sessions — with flexible scheduling and course content tailored to your needs.

If your team is interested in railway training in Japan, please feel free to contact us!

🚇 How Tokyo Metro is Leveraging Drone Technology for Safer Tunnel Inspections 🤖

While not brand-new, Tokyo Metro has been actively utilizing drone technology in tunnel inspections for several years.
This initiative reflects our long-standing efforts to enhance safety, reduce physical burden on workers, and improve inspection accuracy — especially in underground environments where GPS is unavailable.

Key points:
• Manual drone operation in GPS-denied tunnel environments
• Image recognition to detect wear and abnormalities
• Streamlined workflows and reduced inspection risk

This ongoing project exemplifies our commitment to combining on-the-ground experience with innovative solutions for sustainable railway operations.

🌏🚇 Tokyo Metro at Asia Pacific Rail 2025! 🚇🌏

We’re happy to share that Tokyo Metro participated as invited speakers at Asia Pacific Rail 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand.

Mr. Mantani presented on “Boosting Efficiency in Modern Railway Operations” and Mr. Kanzawa shared insights on “Future-ready Railways: Key Trends in Predictive Maintenance Strategies”.

Both sessions showcased how Tokyo Metro is leveraging technology and expertise to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient railway services.
It was an excellent opportunity to learn from global industry leaders and exchange ideas on how to build more sustainable and passenger-friendly rail systems.

After the seminar, we had the chance to enjoy some sightseeing – the view of the Grand Palace from the water bus was truly breathtaking! 🇹🇭✨

🌏🚇 We’re proud to share that Tokyo Metro has begun an important advisory business in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam! 🚇🌏

On May 23, 2025, Tokyo Metro started providing O&M (Operation & Maintenance) advisory services for Urban Railway Line 1 in Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with Nippon Koei.

This 19.7 km line, supported by Japan’s ODA loan and built with Japanese railway technology, has been playing a key role in easing traffic congestion in the city since opening in December 2024.

Our team is bringing Tokyo Metro’s 100 years of safe and punctual operation experience to support HURC1, the local operator. We are providing advice in key areas such as general station operations and maintenance planning for power supply facilities.

We’re excited to help build a more convenient and reliable urban railway system for Ho Chi Minh City! 🚊🇻🇳✨
