🏛️ A Century in the Making: The Day Gaudí’s Dream Touched the Sky ✨
They said it couldn't be done, but history just unfolded right before our eyes. 🥹We are feeling incredibly nostalgic looking back at our past European tours to Barcelona. We remember standing inside the nave, craning our necks through dust and scaffolding, marveling at a vision that felt entirely timeless. And now? The wait is officially over.
On June 10, marking exactly 100 years since "God's Architect" Antoni Gaudí passed away, the new Pope Leo XIV will officiate the historic solemn Mass and bless the newly completed Tower of Jesus Christ. 🕊️👑 Standing at a breathtaking 172.5 meters tall, topped with its radiant four-armed cross, the Sagrada Família is officially the tallest church on Earth!
🧠 Mind-Blowing Trivia:The Ultimate Long-Term Project: Construction began in 1882. It outlasted two World Wars, a civil war, technological revolutions, and multiple generations of architects.
The Perfect Height: Gaudí intentionally designed the central tower to be 172.5 meters tall because he believed human handiwork should never exceed the work of God (Montjuïc hill, Barcelona's highest point, sits at 173 meters). ⛰️
