文化杉並カナディアンインターナショナルスクール（BSCIS）は、2015年に設立された ブリティッシュ・コロンビア州認定のオフショアスクールであり、中学校と高校学校の生徒を対象に、独自の教育モデルを提供しています。
Our program is centred on our partnership with host school Bunka Gakuen University Suginami Junior and Senior High School to bring together the strengths of two world-class educational systems. With a rich history of over 50 years, and as part of the renowned Bunka Gakuen educational foundation—home to Japan’s leading fashion institution—our host school is rooted in a long tradition of excellence.
本校の教育プログラムは、ホスト校である ダブルディプロマプログラムで学ぶためには、学年相応の日本語能力を有していることが必要となります。 との連携を中心に構築されており、世界的に評価されている二つの教育制度の強みを融合させています。50年以上の歴史を持ち、日本を代表するファッション教育機関を擁する文化学園を母体とする本校ホスト校は、長年にわたり高い教育水準を築いてきました。
BSCIS teachers leverage the competency-based framework of the British Columbia curriculum. A curriculum designed to go beyond simply knowing facts, but rather do, encouraging students to develop Core Competencies in critical thinking, communica-tion, and social responsibility. It challenges them to apply their knowledge creatively to solve problems.
BSCISの教員は、 ブリティッシュ・コロンビア州カリキュラムのコンピテンシー重視の枠組みを活用して指導を行っています。このカリキュラムは、単に知識を習得するだけではなく、批判的思考力、コミュニケーション力、社会的責任感といったコア・コンピテンシーを育成することを重視しています。生徒は、学んだ知識を創造的に活用し、課題を解決する力を身につけることが求められます。
The result of this integrated journey is that upon graduation, our students earn two distinct qualifications: the Japanese High School Certificate and the British Columbia Dogwood Diploma. This meaningful recognition of the students’ deep engagement in two curricula is reflected in our graduates, who are welcomed by leading universities at home in Japan and around the world.
この統合された学びの成果として、生徒は卒業時に 日本の高等学校卒業証書 と ブリティッシュ・コロンビア州のドッグウッド・ディプロマ（Dogwood Diploma）という二つの資格を取得します。二つのカリキュラムに深く取り組んだ証であるこれらの資格は、本校の卒業生が日本国内はもちろん、世界各国の有力大学に進学していることにも表れています。
