We are tested and trusted. ❌

We are tried and trusted/tested. ✅
(British English)

We are tried and true. ✅ (American English)

Don't say 'tested and trusted' when you want to express the reliability of something. "Tried and trusted" is commonly used in British English, whereas "tried and true" is the American English equivalent. Both expressions signify that something has been tested over time and proven reliable or effective. "Tested and trusted" is not a standard word.

Examples:
- He liked to stick to tried and true methods in his garden.

- He said there was no reason the new system could not work, that it had been tried and tested all over Europe.

- As a teacher, he relied on his tried and true lesson plans to engage students effectively.

- His tried and trusted sense of humour was always a hit at parties.

- The team trusted their tried and true tactics to win the championship.

I hope you got value from this.

GRAMMAR POINTS

1. Nigeria comprises OF 36 states. ❌
Nigeria comprises 36 states. ✅

The term 'comprise' means to consist of or be made up of something; therefore, you shouldn't use the preposition 'of' after it, as it inherently includes that idea.

2. Although its passive form does take "of":

🟢 Nigeria is comprised OF 36 states. ✅

🟢 Our company's management team is comprised of experienced leaders who guide our organization towards success.

🟢 The board of directors is comprised of individuals with diverse professional backgrounds and expertise.

🟢 The United Nations is comprised of 193 member states, each committed to maintaining international peace and security.

Though "is comprised of" is widely used and accepted, some purists still prefer the active form (comprises) for clarity and precision.

I hope this helps.
