Wednesday afternoon we flew in from Hawaii, Thursday I taught a few classes and that evening I jumped on the train to Providence, Rhode Island for another year at the Perform Better Functional Training Summit.

It was an incredible weekend of learning from the best in the industry, reconnecting with fellow coaches and friends and networking and making new friends. This event is always a highlight of the summer. I was talking to Chris Poirier and Mary Smith about why we come back every year and it boils down to one of the points Frank Nash said in his lecture on retention. “Show them recognition. Show them coaching. Show them accountability. Show them progress. Show them belonging.” Thank you Chris and the PB crew for putting together another amazing event, to the presenters who motivate us to be better coaches (for our clients/students as well as ourselves), to KEVIN HERCHEN - Singer/Songwriter who gives us all the good feels with his tunes during the Friday social, and to my fellow colleagues who inspire me with their passion for what we do. This Summit is always a reaffirmation of what I am meant to do and for who I do it for. See you all next year!

Growing up in NYC, my father passed down to me his love of basketball and the . This year’s road to the Finals has been filled with an intense mixture of anxiety, excitement and hope. We’ve been waiting for this moment for years!! This Friday’s watch party at the Garden was incredible! There is nothing like the electricity of Knicks fans when we get hyped up for our team! I was literally in tears at the buzzer when we won. Saturday morning I went straight to the to get the Finals patch added to my jersey and left the store with the biggest smile on my face. Seeing everyone everywhere in the city all excited about the Knicks is the best feeling!

Tomorrow night is game 3 back here at the Garden! My message for the Knicks: You know what you need to do. No doubts. No distractions. Stay locked in. Trust each other. This is what you’ve been working for your whole lives. Your diehard fans and the whole city of New York believes in you and stands with you. You got this! Go New York, Go New York, Go! 💪🏽

Blizzard of 2026. Central Park was a Winter Wonderland!

Thankfully the snow melted quickly and everyone did a pretty great job of clearing the sidewalks. By the time I got back from teaching later in the evening everything was somewhat cleared although the cross streets are still slushy. So much better than the ice we had after the last snow storm. While the snowfall looked pretty magical, I’m over it. Who else is ready for Spring?

Flashback to 2016…I was working in Publishing but moonlighting in Fitness and clearly that’s where I was supposed to be. IG yoga challenges were everywhere and I jumped on that big time. I started taking classes and eventually started teaching at a boutique studio in the East Village which reignited my love of the ocean (grateful for my Ohana). Took an incredible family trip to Hawaii (first time back with the hubby since our honeymoon but this time taking the kids) and a memorable solo trip to Malta. The Summit in Baltimore was by far one of my favorite fitness summits ever. Grateful for the memories, the places I visited and long to return to, the people I spent time with and those that remain an important part of my life and the person I’ve become since then.
