As July comes to a close, we'd like to thank everyone who joined us for two fantastic JALT Sendai events. A special thank you to Curtis Kelly for bringing Snoop Detective School to Sendai and to Steve Hakkarainen for hosting our July meeting and barbecue at Akiu Canada.

We hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved summer break! While we're taking a short pause in August, we're already looking forward to an exciting September.

📚 September 5: Wayne Malcolm will present "Presenting, Publishing, and Progressing," sharing practical advice for educators looking to develop professionally through conference presentations and publications.

The session concludes with The Snoop Detective School, an interactive mystery-solving activity that demonstrates how fun and communication can drive learning.

Thank you again to Steve Hakkarainen and Akiu Canada for hosting International Day, and thank you to everyone who joined us—including our friends from JALT Yamagata, English Café, and educators from across Tohoku.

Next, JALT Sendai is pleased to welcome Curtis Kelly (EdD) for an evening exploring neuroscience, task-based language teaching (TBLT), extensive reading, and The Snoop Detective School.

Curtis Kelly is a speaker, writer, and professor emeritus of Kansai University. He is a founder of the JALT BRAIN SIG, producer of the MindBrainEd Think Tanks, author of more than 35 books, and has delivered over 500 presentations worldwide.
