*Dear SIS Parents and Teachers,*

We are pleased to invite parents and teachers who are interested in supporting our school community to apply to become members of the *Sapporo International School (SIS) Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)* for the *2026–2027* term.

# # PTA Term

*July 2026 – June 2027* (One-year term)

The SIS PTA aims to strengthen communication and cooperation between parents, teachers, and the school administration while supporting activities that benefit our students and school community.

# # PTA Composition

The PTA committee for the 2026–2027 term will consist of:

* *5 Parent Representatives*, with balanced representation from:

* Kindergarten (KG)
* Elementary School
* Secondary School

* *5 Teacher Representatives*, representing:

* Kindergarten (KG)
* English Department
* STEM Department
* Arabic & Islamic & Quran (AIQ) Department
* Japanese Department

*Membership Selection*

# Parent Representatives

* We encourage applications from parents of different nationalities to ensure broad international representation.
* If more than one parent from the same country applies, priority will be given in the following order:

1. The parent with the greater number of children currently enrolled at SIS.
2. If still tied, the parent whose family has been enrolled at SIS for the longer period.
3. If still tied, the parent who submitted the application first.

# # Teacher Representatives

* We encourage applications from teachers of different nationalities and departments.
* Both full-time and part-time teachers are welcome to apply.
* Applicants should have completed at least **one academic year** of service at SIS.
* If more applications are received than available positions, priority will be given to maintaining balanced representation across departments and nationalities, followed by length of service at SIS.

# # # Notes

1. Only *one parent representative per family* may serve on the PTA during the same term.

2. PTA members are expected to attend meetings regularly and actively participate in school events and activities whenever possible.

3. Members should aim to attend at least *75% of scheduled PTA meetings* during the one-year term.

4. To encourage wider participation within the SIS community, members may serve a maximum of *two consecutive terms*, unless an exception is approved by the school administration.

5. If necessary, the SIS Administration reserves the right to adjust the final committee composition to ensure fair representation of different school sections, departments, and nationalities.

6. If a selected member resigns during the term, the school may appoint the next eligible applicant based on the same selection criteria.

7. All PTA members are expected to work collaboratively, respect confidentiality when appropriate, and support decisions made in the best interest of the school community and students.

We warmly encourage interested parents and teachers to apply via sending an email to [email protected] and become part of this important partnership between home and school.

Spectrum School Visit to Sapporo International School

Sapporo International School was honored to host a distinguished delegation from Spectrum School during April 20–24, 2026. We warmly welcomed Dr. Essra, Principal of Spectrum School (PhD in Education, USA), and Mr. Rauf, Academic Director and Business Advisor.

During the visit, a series of meaningful engagements were conducted, including workshops with all staff aimed at enhancing academic quality and strengthening positive discipline practices. In addition, we held productive meetings with parents and teachers to gather valuable feedback, as well as strategic discussions with the school board to further improve governance, leadership, and institutional development.

This visit was highly productive and enriching, providing valuable insights and fostering strong collaboration between our institutions.

We extend our sincere appreciation to Tajan Group for facilitating this partnership, and we look forward to achieving greater milestones together in the future.
