It's been ages since I posted last time. Sooooory about that. I have a big news today♪

レッスン時間拡大のお知らせ
平素は当レッスンを受講頂き誠にありがとうございます。おかげ様で8月で当スクールも2年を迎えることができました。
10月1日より夜のお時間のレッスンもご受講可能となりましたのでお知らせさせて頂きます。詳しい時間は下記の通りです。
・変更前
平日11：00〜17：00
土日祝9：30〜17：00
・変更後
平日11：00〜21：00（金曜日は18：00まで）
土日祝10：00〜18：00
お休みにつきましては前月末、もしくは月初めにお知らせさせて頂きますのでご確認よろしくお願い致します。
皆様の目標達成にお力添えできるよう精進して参りますので今後ともよろしくお願い致します。ご希望等ございましたらお気軽にお伝え下さい。

Hi, how are you doing? It's fine today, but really really cold. My daughter has turned 1 year old and we had an anniversary photo taken this Tue. I think I will have another one next year. I started a lesson at 9:30, so I am starving now. Can't wait lunch!! Anyway, what we are going through is some phrases, tough nuts and pain in the neck. These were in one of lessons today. Let's check it out!!

まいどです！今日は天気は良いですがほんま寒いですね。娘が１歳になってこの間の火曜日は記念に写真を撮ってもらいました。来年もまたとりたいと思ってます。今日は９時半からレッスンでお昼がまだなので腹ペコです(^^ゞ今日のレッスンで登場したtough nut と pain in the neckを見ていきましょう！

tough nut: a problem that is very difficult to solve or a person who is very difficult to understand.
ややこしい問題や人
例）This problem is a tough nut to crack, but we'll be able to solve it somehow.これは難題だが、何とか解決できるだろう。

pain in the neck: to be annoying/ annoying person, thing, practice
いらいらさせる、わずらわせる（人や物、事）
例）It's a real pain in the neck when you're trying to get some sleep on the train and people keep shouting into their mobile phones all around you. 電車で寝ようとする時に携帯で大声で喋られたりするとほんまにいらっとします。

ネガティブなこともこんな感じでオシャレな表現を使うとちょっとは気持ちも晴れるのでは☆ちなみに節分もちなんで豆のnutを使ってみました!(^^)!Bye now and have a nice weekend!!

Hi, how are you doing? It's fine, but windy today. I heard often that many people had a cold or flu recently, so please take care and have a good rest. The weather this weekend will be fine, so you can go out somewhere with family and friend. Have a nice weekend! Today we are going through a little about grammar. まいどです！天気は良いですが風が強いですね(-_-;)たくさんの方が風邪だったりインフルだったりと聞きますので皆さんしっかり休んで体調崩さないようになさってくださいね。週末はお天気良さそうなのでお出掛けにいいかもですね♪今日は文法問題をちょっと見てみましょう！

上の文章の空欄に入るのは１～４のどれかということですが、皆さんはどれをチョイスされましたか？答えはtakeになります。take photoはセットフレーズで写真を撮るという意味です。ちょっと簡単だったかもしれないですがこういうセットフレーズの積み重ねも上達へのポイントの一つです☆今日はCambridge　ESOL　FCEからの出題でした！それではHave a nice weekend and see you next time!(^^)!

Hi, how are you doing? It's raining today and will be raining all day long. I bumped into a friend when I was eating out with my family last Tuesday. He was a student at the moment and I was just before I went abroad. It's been about 10 years since I last saw him. Time flies. I am glad that he has his own business and is doing well. Hope see him soon and talk more. Today is a quick funny lesson. Let's check it out.

昨日のレッスンでオタクって英語でどういうかという話になりました。GeekやNerdというのですがOtakuがもう英語になってるようです。そういえばオーストラリアにいた頃の友達がI am Otakuと言って日本のアニメにはまってたのを思い出しました(笑)GeekとNerdの違いは下記URLをご参照ください↓

Hi, how are you doing? It's been freezing outside, hasn't it? I wanna go somewhere very warm like Hawaii...beautiful sunshine, beach, friendly people, tasty food and drink, more and more...Oh, I need to get back to reality lol. Today we are going through a ward CASE, which has several meanings. Let's check it out!!

Case:
1. It means cover or boxed-shaped container for stuff so we have expressions like bookcase, suitcase or so.

2. It also means situation, so we say:
It's not the case that all Japanese like Sashimi
It's the case that kids under twenty sometimes buy ci******es.

3. We use in case to join the sentences: it means BECAUSE or IT IS POSSIBLE THAT
ex) Take an umbrella in case it rains.

１は箱やカバーなど物を入れたりするケースを指します。２は状況や場合の意味で、３はin caseで文章をつなぐ役割を果たします。becauseやit is possible that(that以下かもしれない)の意味になります。こういう簡単そうでも意味の多い単語は英語では結構多いので使いこなせるようになりたいですね(>_

Happy new year, guys! How was New year's? I just drunk and ate a lot for last few days, haha. I need to do exercise(+_+)　I back to work today and had a few lessons as well. I want to support everybody who wants to make themselves understood English more this year. To do that, I have a lot of things to do, so I will keep trying. We will post more often than last year. 今日は「赤毛のアン」の映画からイディオムをピックアップしました！ではチェックしましょう(*^◯^*)

MARILLA:
Ah,Rachel,good morning. And how are all Lyndes?

RACHEL:
Oh,we're all right as rain,Marilla.But..I was kind of worried about you when I saw your brother drive by just now.

マリラ:
おはよう、みなさんお変わりなくて？

レイチェル:
私たちは問題なしよ。ただ…そのう心配になったの、あなたのことが、だってマシューが今出かけていくのが見えたから。

【解説】
マシューが外出するのを目撃したおせっかい屋のレイチェルは、マシューの妹マリラを訪ねて理由を詮索するという場面です。
We are all right as rain.は「健康」「満足な状態」を指すイディオムです。as right as rainはas busy as bee(せっせと働く)、as cool as cucumber(非常に冷静で)と同じく韻を踏むイディオムです。農業を営む者にとって雨は恵みをもたらします。そこで、雨を比較に使った表現ができたそうです。

ちなみに、原題を直訳すれば「緑の切妻屋根のアン」です。切妻というのはアンが暮らす家の建築様式です。これを「赤毛のアン」と訳した訳者さん、すごいですよね！
赤毛の持ち主は癇癪持ちと言われ、映画でもアンの癇癪持ちぶりがいかんなく発揮されています！

Hi, how are you doing guys? This is a notice for my students about lesson schedule this weekend. I am available at 10:30, 13:00 and 14:00 and two more students will be available for Erik's lesson at 11:00 on Saturday. As for Sunday, I think I will be available from 13:00. Feel free to contact me if you want take a lesson weekend. Have a nice rest of the day!

Hi!How are u doing?
It started December.
It's getting cooooold recently,isn't it?
I'm gonna be frozen...

There is no lesson today and we want to tell u about that we had a welcome party for new teacher yesterday.
Around 20 people joined and we had fun a lot!
If u are interested in English lessons wz native speaker,plz ask us:)
Of course we have lessons wz Japanese teacher,too:)

It's only less than a month left in 2014!
Don't catch a cold and don't drink too much! Hahaha:D

You might already know a meaning of "chicken".
Let's check it out!!

今日は「バック・トゥ・ザ・フューチャーⅡ」から単語をひとつご紹介します(^.^)
「チキン」の意味はもうすでにご存知かもしれませんが…チェックしていきましょう‼︎

GRIFF:What's wrong,Mcfly?Chicken?

MARTY:What's did you call me,Griff?

GRIFF:Chicken,Mcfly!

MARTY:Nobody calls me chicken.

グリフ:どうした、腰が抜けたか？

マーティ:今、何て言った？

グリフ:腰抜けと言ったのさ。

マーティ:誰にも腰抜け呼ばわりさせないぞ。

【解説】
この映画がヒットしたお陰で、chickenに「臆病者」という意味があることが知れ渡りました。chickenは鶏の総称でビクビクしているイメージがあります。また、動詞としてchicken outのように使うこともできます。chicken outは、やろうとしていたことを直前になっておじけづいてやめてしまうことです。

Hi, how are you doing? Sorry for that I haven't been able to post anything quite long time even though my assistant helps me sometimes. My assistant has been a kind of busy recently, so I am doing by myself instead.

Today I have a big new about my school. It is what something exciting and surprising. And also I have been waiting for that day is coming. Oh, you will be full of beans, haha. I can hear you say tell now, haha.

The big news is that you can take lesson with a native speaker. Wow!! What a surprise!! As well as my lesson, you can take that lesson with same price 2000 yen. The lesson will be maximum 4 people and 50 min. You have chances to practice what you have been studying. For details, contact me any time.

peopleは常に複数扱いの集合名詞ですが使い方で意味が変わってきます。

people＝人々
many people＝多くの人
a people＝1国民
peoples＝諸国民

例文:
People say she is rich.
世間では彼女は金持ちだと言っている

Many people were injured in the accident.
その事故で多くの人がけがをした

The Japanese are a hard-working people.
日本人は勤勉な国民である

The Americans are one of the English-speaking peoples.
アメリカ国民は英語を話す国民のひとつだ

ちなみにpoliceも常に複数扱いの集合名詞です！
The police are searching the house.
警察がその家を捜索中だ

複数扱いなので"is"ではなく
"are"を使いましょう(^.^)
