I was cut open,
stitched back together,
barely able to stand —
but still, I held my baby.

Getting up hurt.
Lying down hurt.
Feeding, changing, rocking…
it all hurt — but I did it.

No one warns you
how hard it is to heal
while being needed
every second of the day.

I cried in silence,
pushed through pain,
loved through exhaustion —
and that’s what a mother’s strength looked like.
