An Info Search Game with 3 year olds talking about fruit!

A two step labeling game. First, work on the noun phrase then embed it in a sentence with a preposition. The kids make whatever sentence they want where ever they want…even the toilet. 🤷‍♂️

A Running Game with language from the song, “The Candy Store.” Practicing this song for their concert this year, really helped them master the more complex language in this song! Very good class involvement as the teams help their contestants with the answers!

Here is a typical example of how MB flows from songs, through workbook activities and then games. There are plenty of chances for use of perceptible input. Games allow constructive and comparison/contrast possibilities. Integration of different kinds of cards start familiarizing students with English sentence structure and a bit of word recognition on the way to reading. Sorry its so long! But its intended for those who want to know what MB is about!

A 3 card info search game. There are 5 things going on here. 1) a natural answer to a question, 2) use of a pronoun referring to the noun in the question, 3) switching back to using the noun with the “be” verb, 4) comparing/contrasting that with a simple present tense sentence and, 5) a bit of construction work with the noun phrase, adding an adjective.

A bit of construction work adding times and frequency to daily routines. Unfortunately, trying to get rambunctious boys to engage in follow on conversation is like pulling teeth. My giggly 1st grade girls are better conversationalists!
